3 days ago, I was resuscitated after nearly succeeding in taking my own life, and I've learned.

If you commit suicide, your soul is sent to a hall of mirrors where you are forced to watch how your decision affected everyone close to you, you will be forced to feel all of their anguish and grief tenfold, it will feel like centuries each second, and you will experience guilt that could never be properly conveyed in words alone.

You were never dead though, when you're near death the "shen" or awareness loosens up, which makes for these mental projections people confuse with their "souls" coming out of their body. This is basically what happens in NDEs, they never died, their energetic patterns never left their body, they were just projecting shen or awareness. There's a very simple tell for this, have you ever heard anyone during an NDE complaining about the sunlight burning them? When you actually die, if you happen to have a strong enough shen and you don't get "recycled" immediately, your yin body or etheric body separates from the physical shell and then it carries your shen instead of the physical body.

Ghosts are etheric bodies, or yin beings, sunlight and other strong yang carriers unravel etheric or yin constructs when hit directly, specially a new ghost. If people in NDEs had actually died and they were using their etheric/yin bodies they wouldn't be able to handle sunlight and some other elements that are often seen in NDE experiences. They also couldn't travel to far away places just by thinking about it, that's only possible in NDEs because the person is a shen projection, purely mental, ghosts can't do that.

Whatever you saw was influenced by your shen structure as well, this isn't something that will apply to everyone, you should worry about your own stuff.

If someone I knew committed suicide, even if I was grieving and angry, I would not want them to experience torment for it. I like to think I would wish for them to find peace and understand why they chose it.

Is that the official Taoist explanation for NDEs? Interesting. I've never heard NDEs being explained in a traditional or religious context. I thought people usually used the content of them to justify their own religion.

Damn. Maybe the reasons in which I would want to commit suicide should be addressed instead of… punishing me for not enjoying an existence of pain with… more pain? I didn’t ask to be born and the whole shebang of punishing me for being the way I was made to be is asinine. If I was created in such a way, or with such an environment, that I would feel the need to kill myself, the responsibility is not mine, as this vile existence is all I’ve ever known.

It's how NDEs should be explained through a taoist framework, but it's not limited to taoism. Etheric constructs "dissolving" when met with an active charge or yang qi is something observed throughout traditions around the world. This is why "egyptian vampires", which were disembodied etheric bodies created through rites would only leave to feed at night and then come back to their guarded corpse during the day. Why garlic, salt, iron or dry wood which are potent carriers of yang qi are used to dissolve or deter yin ghosts or etheric beings.

I'm using mainly a taoist perspective because their framework is structured neatly and clearly when it comes to this. But like i said, it's not limited to taoism, every tradition around the world has a framework for negative/passive animating energies and positive/active animating energies. In taoism is yin qi and yang qi, if you're a modern occultist you might know them as magnetic fluid and electric fluid, alchemists called them sulphur and mercury....etc.

NDEs are a purely psychic expeience, it doesn't mean they aren't real, it just means that the energy that gives form (yin qi) hasn't left the body because you're not dead yet. And what the person is experiencing is their awareness (shen) projecting to different places. Since shen doesn't have any mass, density or charge it isn't affected by anything physically and it can travel any distance in an instant, but of course it can't interact physically with anything either, for that you'd need a body with charged currents.

I think this was just some self inflicted cope. Like most people that "go to hell" they do so because deep down the believe they should.
Suicide is a selfish act, if you aren't willing to happily abandon the world without a single care for anyone else then you aren't really ready to commit suicide. If didn't care about them at all then "feeling their suffering" should have meant nothing to you at all.

There's a lot of nuance that goes into calling them "places" but yeah, they are real, you're just visiting them as a mental projection, with your shen. You can't get physically affected or physically affect others. If during an NDE you're taking somewhere where you can interact with the environment, grab things...etc. That means that "place" is a mental projection just like you.

When people's bodies actually die biologically, their yin qi or "ether" leaks out and their shen uses it as a vehicle, which is what gives you a yin ghost (your typical ghost) or etheric being. However most people, and i mean most, have incoherent and weak shen, which will fragment and fall apart right after or soon after dying, their yin qi will just merge with environmental yin qi and the shen will just get recycled.

Shen is what modulates the mind, awareness, memories, what results in an ego. Only a minority of people get to perdure after death because their shen is strong enough to hold together after losing their "jing" and "yang qi" they had anchoring them to their physical bodies. You need a functioning shen to manifest an ego, and you need an ego to experience "hell". What i'm saying is that most people just get recycled naturally and immediately after dying, they don't get to experience something like a metaphysical "hell" even if they did this "bad" thing or the other.

You didn’t come to the conclusion to love life by loving it, you came to it by fear. This doesn’t solve the main issue if you still wish to end your existence. And you know what? Everyone is going to experience something like that anyway, so why slow down the process, to add more pain onto the pile when you die?

The people at home would be devastated if I killed myself. Latino families seem to suffer more from grief than other families. When my great-aunt died, her daughter, and everyone they were devastated and was going to visit her tombstone for several days.
