God is always willing to give you challenges but substantially less willing to drop money onto your lap unless you really, really need it. Remember to watch your tongue with him. Really. It may be too little too late, but he will not hesitate to make your life more difficult, especially if you explicitly give him permission to. Don't make promises you can't fulfill to him or try to test him like that. He will immediately punch you in the mouth, just like you are currently experiencing.

Didn't you read the part in the OT where the guy made an oath to sacrifice the first thing he sees if God gave him victory and the first thing he saw after returning from the battle was his daughter. It's why Jesus said not to swear oaths

>Jephthah led the Israelites in battle against Ammon and, in exchange for defeating the Ammonites, made a vow to sacrifice whatever would come out of the door of his house first. When his daughter was the first to come out of the house, he immediately regretted the vow, which bound him to sacrifice his daughter to God. Jephthah carried out his vow.

... as if Jephthah didn't know who was living in his house? Nothing forced Jephthah to vow to kill his family members, and nothing forced him to actually do it, either. What an utterly deranged man.

The Old Testament is stupid and so are its followers

Back then animals would mill around the interiors of people's homes. It was just considered a part of life. He was probably expecting a sheep or something to walk out.

Jephthah obviously ended up doing what he already wanted to do

When I told everybody we should replace the Bible with books from Morrowind, people should have taken me more seriously
