Suffering

it's all semantics. IS the animal truly happy? How do YOU KNOW? I raise rabbits. I have heard in the bible it is stated that we are not to eat anything without hooves or scales. So maybe in biblical terms i am technically doing something that is "wrong" but i do anyway because they are easily raised and the meat is great. We give them alot of kitchen scraps like peppers, broccoli. They have access to hay and pellets at all times. They live in a colony setup with each other so they are not alone, Not running around on wire, and wrapped in plastic in the winter with heated water. I could not imagine a more simple safe and pampered life for a rabbit. When the time comes to kill one of them, I have no doubt that they had a great life for a rabbit. I do not play the semantics of IS IT CRUEL? The bottom of the discussion would lead to, yes, death is not something most would consider pleasant. Am i bringing on suffering by raising them to die? Probably by most peoples standards. How could i avoid the suffering? JUST DONT EAT MEAT. That's the conclusion i've come to. I am not willing to do this either. Everybody who is okay with eating meat is simply repressing their discomfort. Every human was a human child and every human child was horrified to find out that we take animals just like our pets and skin them, chop them up, and eat them.
