How to get in touch with nature spirits
without using le ebin drugz. I work a job that does lots of drug testing, so getting high innawoods is not an option. I also live in a bear and meth head-heavy area, and I'd prefer to be sober while dealing with them. Is meditation the only way? Can a white boi like myself do a spirit quest the way the Blackfoot tribe used to?

Meditation is going to be the best way in the long run. It's just going to take a long time. If you want something quick and inaccurate go bust out the ouija board or pendulum.

> Can I do a spirit quest
Yes
> Like the Blackfoot tribe
No

You'll have to experiment to find the ways that work with you. Just remember, you're contacting a spirit and that's going to work like contacting every other spirit. The only difference is that you're contacting Billibob the spirit of the local lake instead of Stolas the astronomy demon.

Buy plants, start a garden. Doesnt even have to be a food garden. Thats a start, learn to keep nature alive and you start taking that knowledge around you everywhere

Yeah, sure. Grow plants that wouldn't normally grow in that space. Constrain growth in a place where no human hands ever had any business constraining anything. All very "natural". You're a fucking dumbass.

You're absolutely crazy. He's talking about growing a garden, a task which may or could even involve putting down soil in a greenhouse, on top of rocks. What is wrong with that. Why would you NOT let someone take good advice?

He can grow herbs.

Psychedelics don't show up on drug tests, if you research why, it will make sense.
>I also live in a bear and meth head-heavy area, and I'd prefer to be sober while dealing with them
You don't have anywhere to go in nature that is away from bears and meth heads? What the fuck?

Actually I forgot, hair tests could detect the classic psychedelics for a few months, but are they even testing for that, let alone in your hair? Probably not.

You don't actually need to get high on shrooms or whatever to do a spirit quest. Fasting, prayer and self-isolation would work just fine. It would just be a matter of preparing yourself for it so you don't simply die innawoods and become a spirit yourself.

Silvanus is the god of both the wild nature and crops. They're different sides of the same coin, man.

>You don't have anywhere to go in nature that is away from bears and meth heads
methheads patrol the beaches because they do subsistence fishing here, and they know that the wildlife police are always flying planes over to see if people are following the law, and they try to hide their nets when they see planes coming. they also drive all around the back roads to collect wood to burn, so I'm not even really clear in the forest.

If I go deep innawoods where the methoids don't go, I'm either getting swarmed by mosquitoes or I'm in the places that the bears hang out (in order to avoid methoids)

How much of each will I need to do? I imagine I probably won't meet a spirit on the first try

NTA but.. "silvanus was a Roman tutelary deity of woods and uncultivated lands". Really feels like humans tacked on crops as being under his domain as a vain attempt to tame a wild entity. Let's be logical here: people haven't **always** grown crops. That developed at some point along the way, and it meant permanent encroachment on wild lands. Even if you were really a worshipper of Silvanus rather than just throwing in his name as a convenient argument, the worship of Silvanus by agriculturalists would have simply been a gesture to stave off the wilderness.

Who knows? The thing about caloric restriction, repetitive prayer and unfamiliar surroundings is that they put your mind in a different mode. Maybe it's just hallucinations or maybe you're putting yourself in a state that's more open. I suggest getting used to at least a 24 hour fast first. And if you're physically not in good shape or aren't used to hiking etc, perhaps train in advance.

Find a steep hill and try to climb up it on all fours, if you reach the top without getting on your hinds you will commune with your ancestral human spirits

I second this. You don't even have to go super deep in the wild.
Camp out with some friends to sit for you nearby. Mount Shasta was nice for me.

>physically not in good shape or aren't used to hiking
This won't be an issue, I'm fairly hardcore about my hikes. My only issue is the lengthier caloric restrictions; I'm tall with some decent muscle, and I feel like major dogshit when I don't eat enough. I'm also a volunteer first responder and on call 24/7, so I have to be ready to haul a 400 lb diabetic out of their house at a moment's notice. I guess I just need to fast and get used to hauling weight with no glycogen in my system
>>40943649
you've communed? what was it like? did having friends around make it difficult/different?
>>40943746
By "offer" do you mean smoke it, or just burn it as a sacrifice? I usually smoke a bowl of tobacco after a hard hike as is. Is there a specific blend or variety I should use? I did make some mead for ceremonial purposes, since it's my understanding that mead was a big part of sacrifices and ceremonies back in the day.
