Time does not work like this, there's a point in the future that is creating our present as its justification, so the following decades from now will depend on the following decades after them.
You get to choose because the older you from then will remember events happening in those decades, and that will cause them to happen to justify your memories.
The only way time traveling is involved will be if the older you remembers them happening in these decades, just like your childhood was manifested now to justify your current memories.

You can pretty much tell what is bullshit by reading it. Some unexpected shit will happen, but anything talking about new societies or aliens is pretty ridiculous and shouldn't be taken seriously. That said, I have posted stuff before and had it dismissed simply because it wasn't what the people on this board wanted to hear. I'll repost some highlights because who cares, it won't change anything.

Climate change fucks us over incredibly hard. We adapt and manage to come out the other side, but it is a truly catastrophic thing for billions of people, everyone is pretty much impacted in some way. The US continues to spiral, almost entirely due to internal issues, but everything going on with the climate, etc and their diminished influence in the world economy begins to speed those processes up. In the 2030s California tries to secede and form its own country, the USA does not recognize it and sends troops to take it back, and California hacks into the nuclear grid or uses espionage to take control of some of the nukes. Iowa/Missouri area gets nuked and the whole world goes apeshit, basically declares the US a failed state and makes a coalition to occupy and pacify it. Tons of the former US are occupied and stable under China and other nations. Things are generally better. Science and tech have been improved and most everyone has access to the things they need to live a long, healthy life. China is the top dog, but it's not quite as scary as everyone assumed, and they take a more hands off approach, basically leading a more impactful UN type org. There is also another time traveler from this period (2100s) who is currently living in Hungary undetected.
