The funny thing is that it's exactly the opposite.
You will never experience true happiness, if you clinging.

All types of happiness - in escapism or work or in society, are based on the same thing - you don't cling, you let go and focus on one thing. 99% of happiness comes from this "letting go". And the quality of the release depends on the object.

And the Buddhists simply brought this scheme to perfection - in meditation.
