What "branch" of hinduism, at least the ones today, most closely aligns with Vedic Literalism? I heard ISKCON is literalist -which I consider a good, positive thing- but Mimamsa are 100% Vedic to the point of theistic indiferentism, so maybe THEY are more literalistic?

I'm a Christian.
I understand Buddhism well enough.
I understand the Abrahamic faiths well enough.
But I know nothing about Hinduism.
Can you teach me the basics as if I'm a slow witted child without using a bunch of words I don't know?

Hinduism has always been nebulous to me because I don't know any hindus to observe and all the terminology is words I don't know.
