understanding the implications of eternality. we are not immortal here with these bodies in this life, but we are eternal. the whole good vs. evil bullshit will be over and a tiny miniscule memory in the vastness of eternity, if it is even remembered at all. bibilcal armageddon on earth will eventually be just some thing that happened one time, all this bullshit here is just whatever. we lived for an eternity before, and will after.

and for what? just more scurrying about, eating food, entertainment, all that bullshit. we do it here in material existence, and there aren't any reasons to think that existing afterwards is going to be any different. so fucking what if you escape samsara and the wheel of reincarnation, you still have an eternity to fucking stare down. it will never end. ever. sure, we get memory wipes from time to time, do some evil for some reason, live a few lives as whatever creatures maybe, hang out with ayylmaos, all that bullshit. none of it matters, it is just more blah blah blah bullshit.

what's next? another life of toil and strain on the astral plane as a young spirit? or do we have to spend a few lifetimes in purgatory to learn some doctrinal bullshit about divine laws on earthly lives. fuck all that shit. what else, do we get to spend all kinds of eons out in the void, just staring off into the blackness.

it never fucking ends. ever. at some point, the memory wipes will stop, and the entire totality of existence will eventually be a "seen it again" situation as if all on repeat and replay. given enough of eternity and no mind wipes, you'll just get fucking bored with infinity and eternality. all the novelties will eventually fade, leaving the cold, dark, gray glow of the universe just sitting there, frozen, if we are lucky, and all time stops and we don't have to do this anymore.

Annihilationism, total complete cessation of consciousness, I don't know the absence of perception is just so antithetical to being in existence, even if it is hurtful, at least one had the capacity to express itself.

Anon, you should look into Advaita Vedanta, eternal bliss is your birthright, not the dread you feel now

Good picks, both of these equally scare me. Living forever is just Lovecraftian levels of dread but ceasing to exist is also dread inducing and depressing as well. I think the best outcome is living forever, but with a different state of mind/mindset.

>eternal bliss
yo, that sounds cool and all, but it is just bait. do you really want to take the advice of some dipshit meatbags on a backwater planet floating through the cosmos? not me. fuck those dumbasses, I'm only here for a while and no one knows anything worth knowing here.

we are all here alive at the same time on earth and get to watch the inevitable collapse, that's the only reason I am still alive. after that, I get to leave and go to the next place. fuck earth.

that eternal bliss? not going to happen. even if it did, how long would it be desired before getting sick of it? not long enough, not an eternity. eternal bliss is a lie.

etymology time!

https://translate.google.com/?sl=el&tl=en&text=horos&op=translate

horos, in the greek used in most of the gnostic and adjacent texts of that time, use horos to indicate the boundary of the material world in which we live.

NOTICE, that even back in the late bronze age, horos was used to refer to space, as in a large space taken up by a room, but also just as much as cosmic space.

additionally, horos was used to refer to fences, property markers, boundaries, and of course everyones favorite, liminal spaces.

what's next? you guessed it, horology, the measurement of time.

the horo- root word indicates many things, but specific to gnostic and prison-style religions, the horos is the time boundary of space which keeps us imprisoned here.

now you know, the eternality thing is a time prison with the infinite distance of space and endless time being the "boundary" keeping us here.

picrel. you'll also notice that in the Truman Show flick, he also crosses the horos.

I forgot to add some bullshit about horoscopes, but you get the idea. it's all horos. death won't get you past the horos, nor will going really fast for a long time. time travel doesn't work either.

So are we permatrapped? Also, also, if infinity is bs, then how is life like outside the dreammatrix?
Anonymous No.40975608

>So are we permatrapped?
until we figure out how to escape. I have never once found anything towards that information, escaping the horos, aside from that thing about buddha or whomever waiting until the last soul is liberated before they are the last leave the material world, making sure all the souls got out.

aside from that, all we get are ascension manuals, how to get to heaven, how not to go to hell, how to escape reincarnation, all the typical shit. hardly ever do any of the religions aim towards escaping from this place into the pleroma or totality, in gnostic terms, where the aeons and other entities live. the gnostic hold various positions, one that we are stuck here forever as the prisoners of the demiurge and archons, while some indicate that we can actually escape by pleading our release to the other entities outside the horos who can see us. to me, that is unacceptable, making them complicit in our imprisonment and the requirement to change what we are to be released from prison.

>Also, also, if infinity is bs, then how is life like outside the dreammatrix?

no clue, either I cannot remember or have never been there myself. some of the descriptions I have read about the pleroma and totality, which apparently are not the same, lead me to believe that we are stuck in a prison made by some ordinary creatures in some other realm of existence who have been lying to us the entire time, passing themselves off as false gods.

it is highly concerning our limits and punishments for using the violence which they are so wanton and enthusiastic to use on us. sounds like the kinds of things you want to tell us to keep us from rising up and fighting back.

ditto. I was awake for about 4 days, natty. it was an old habit from some shitty years I had, so I thought it wasn't a big deal. typical work-induced insomnia. by about day 2, it is usual to start having spotty memories, then after that, unless you sleep, you are going to have difficulties remembering days 3, 4, and beyond. I had just come off a high stress life where there was nearly no free time off, abuse, and all that other crap.

it wasn't a stressing event which caused mine, it was the release of stress and trying to live a slow life and I fucked it up. went nuts, got locked up by the popo, got a felony criminal mischief charge, and all kinds of fun stuff. I dropped a lot of old friends who made me the butt of their jokes for it, so it worked out in the end.

blah blah blah, ditto on the suicide thing. it isn't actually a solution at all. you can die as many times and ways as you want, it doesn't matter. hop in a body and live a life, fine. skip it for a while and live as a spirit, whatever.

what I got from it was
>you aren't leaving anytime soon (with emphasis)
>death only releases pain, not the soul, the pain stays in the world and is increased by suicide, decreased by natural death

we tend to increase the pain in the world by minimizing natural death, maximizing abuse, and unironically setting the conditions to maximize suicide.

also, you look like the son of an estonian woman I dated for a while.

Eternity isn't a bad thing when it's with God. Eternity with the Lord will be wonderful, peaceful, renewing, always interesting, fulfilling, loving, and you'll never have any sort of "existential dread" because it will be all the things I mentioned above, and so much more.

This whole "eternity is scary" thing is satanic brainwashing cope, they want you to "escape" so you fall right into the abyss. And how exactly would one "escape" anyways? If there's anything after, isn't that still eternity in their eyes, the very thing they want to avoid? Would they rather be destroyed? I never see gnostics having an actual decent end goal, it's always so vague and just another excuse to hate the creator who loves us. Very sad.

I literally had something "scary" happen to me yesterday
>Be me
>Practicing driving the car with dad
>We go over the functions of the car
>He points me to where the emergency brake is
>Right underneath the steering wheel
>Next to the brake
>Some kind of trigger
>Clearly labeled
>"Emergency brake"
>Tells me I better not step on it
>Months pass
>Keep on practicing driving the car
>He keeps on telling me the functions of the car
>I VIVIDLY remember the emergency brake being there, right next to the brake
>He tells me not to confuse it with the handbrake next to the glovebox
>Don't question it
>"They are two different brakes meant for different situations"
>Fast forward to yesterday
>Driving the car as usual
>We go over the functions of the car again
>Wait, wtf
>The emergency brake isn't there anymore.
>It has completely vanished
>Question dad about this
>He gets confused
>Says he doesn't know what I"m talking about
>The handbrake is the "emergency brake"

I just got mandela effected in real time. And he isn't playing a fucking prank on me either as I know that POS emergency brake was connected to the car. Plus, he's not the type to disassemble the car for something stupid like this. And I can't even speak about this with other people because they'll think i'm crazy.
