This is something I’ve learned though, something not often taught as a recompense to neglect or abuse of a child.

When humans age, they become attacked by the guilt of their actions.

That mother who took delight in her compliant child will not know a moment of peace as she’s stuffed into a nursing home. Forced to come to terms with her behavior as she herself is abandoned and neglected the same way she had been to her own child.

You're right, I think, and the sadism in society these days is absolutely fucking unreal and the specific reason I am not a parent myself or pursuing that. Firstly, this sadism infects many sectors of society and becomes more pervasive and harder to protect against each year. Secondly, there's a LOT of space between horror-movie-sadist and good parent and while I'd never be the former, I'm not sure I could ever be the latter either. I just dont think I'd be good enough. I mean, maybe if I ended up meeting some A+ supermom who wanted a family with me I'd reconsider. Maybe I could do it with the help. I'm not blackpill incel, but I don't think myself hot shit either so I'm not expecting that kind of outcome kek

The problem with most parents is they bring the sins of their past onto their children.

If you can break the cycle of abuse, whatever it may have been, and spare your children that injustice, then you’ve already succeeded.

The world needs new good people within it to counteract the bad. The world needs a few more good parents like you’ll make.

Don’t be discouraged that you aren’t good enough, so long as you’re not bad like the other parents you’ll see, and genuinely love your kids, everything will work out.
