there's gray areas and it depends on your age and personality, amount of accumulated trauma that prevents natural communication in a very alien and dissociated world. if youre mentally ill and even slightly dysfunctional it will be very hard to navigate to find anyone who will actually give a shit about you or even remotely understand you. but i found that subtle connections of people who arent oversocialized normies seems to have died off in favor of group mindedness

I made one of the best friends I've ever had in the last year. But it had been probably 15 years since I had made a real friend. So it's rare but possible. Go to the sauna. Lots of schizos like saunas.

I have friends that I’ve made through family and things I’ve done like college. It helps having a sibling and also being in a smaller friend group.
Friend groups are important because then you don’t have to carry all the slack or get too annoying to one person.
I know people who’ve made friends through clubs because then you have a hobby you can talk about.
On a side note: This whole one child thing is fucking up the world. You need siblings to learn how to be a good person and to communicate and hold relationships.
