OP here. I’m attracted to the infantry because I want to fight wars. The people who do so are the kind of men I aspire to be, and I’m young enough that I hate it I’ll still be young in four years. I see it as a character building exercise and quite frankly, I’m not super convinced that violence is always wrong, which ahimsa doctrine would have you to believe. I think saving people by killing some is a good trade, and ultimately, no scripture is worth the paper it’s printed on if no one is there to defend it. Hence, why I’m attracted to the infantry.
