There are 200-300 billion stars within the Milky Way galaxy — a very average-sized galaxy. Each star obviously capable of planets that could develop life.
There are over 2 trillion known galaxies in the observable universe. Each one with it's own hundreds of billions of stars.

The universe is only roughly 14ish billion years old; relatively young on the cosmic scale. Moreover, that universe will continue to make NEW stars for the next 100 trillion years. The universe will, inevitable, begin to decay, however, "the Degenerate Era" is still roughly 1 quadrillion years away.

I say all of this for a pretty simple reason: Between the start of the universe and heat death quadrillions of years from now it only takes ONE species to reach Type 2 or Type 3 to, essentially, turn the entire universe into their personal sandbox. They can go anywhere at any time.
For them, the universe NEVER ends; never dies; never decays; because they have mastery of time and space, so they can exist nearly forever — with plenty of space to use.

This doesn't even account for parallel universes or "multiverse" type ideas.
To me, it is absolutely insane and peak level arrogance to think we're all that exists, or that we have even a child-level understanding of what is possible technologically as a species.

Again, for me, from a purely logical perspective, the likelihood of other life in the universe seems like an inevitable fact.

so if you take into account that the future isn't set in stone but a probability collapse you might become god just by look at your own history making it so by doing so creating a causal finite line out of the random causality as now that youve seen your past it has to lead up to you seeing it
aka the future isnt set in stone but neither is the past until you make it so or it creates a butterfly effect and you cease to exist fixing the problem

Every dot in that photo is a galaxy/cluster so our galaxy were it in the middle of this "void" would also be a fucking dot.

Second, this is a picture of the Barnard 68 Nebula a dark gas cloud only .25ly in diameter. Not a void which is billions on times larger than this star fart cloud.
