I think parts of gnosticism are true
In my experience, whenever I prayed, the opposite happens. I don't know if there's such a thing as your will and God's will. Or if that's old testament thought: would the true God not violate your wishes?
Anyways I have prayed for love, my health, and my career. And over time, I have noticed that nothing I have ever wanted has happened. In fact, my suffering has increased. And as I look back, I am seeing a pattern and I am starting to question: did something else answer my prayers? Did something evil?
What are your thoughts on this anons? Some of these were very specific prayers and the opposite ocurred, souring my life.

Great post. We are in a box as well as having free will. North Koreans are the most subjugated people on the planet yet some of them escape that hell. If you live in the USA or Europe, your freedoms allow you to not live too much of a shitty life if you're clever. Nice response friend, hope what I say makes sense.

I do think they are (comedically) wrong about it being up to us about how our life goes, but their not entirely wrong. We can be born with free will in a deterministic system.
Also God might love you, but he doesn't seem to regard our clay vessels too highly.

I have literally got everything I ever prayed for. And you know what's funny? After it I spent several years cursing God and spitting in his face. Still do it sometimes. Prayers still answered. I think He thinks I'm funny.
