I just want to read about your dream experiences that made you question their nature, or the nature of reality, or that are just interesting. Did you have strange conversations with dream characters? Shared dreams? Recurring dream characters? Lucid dreams?

I'm interested in the idea of lucid dreaming and crafting a world that you can return to. I'm trying to get back into lucid dreaming, but right now I'm at that stage where I can barely remember anything to write in the journal.

What if there were a website where people could anonymously journal their dreams. An AI would summarize and come up with theme and event "tags" to apply to your dream entry. Then there would be a list of commonly recurring themes, character archetypes, and events across everyone's dreams for that night, week, month, etc. Then forums for people to discuss these recurring things with each other.

I'm just a traveler on /X/.
About a decade ago, I had a dream that still haunts my mind.
In the dream, I awoke in this enormous palace that looked like some middle eastern or desert architecture. The palace was interior was painted blue, white and gold. I was at the entrance of the interior of the palace and there was a beautiful fountain in the center between two columns of stairs. Suddenly, a voice echoed "you must be more like Daniel". When I heard that, an image of a man wearing robes appeared who I assumed was the prophet Daniel from the Bible. That being said, I do have a very close blood relative named Daniel as well.
Suddenly, I'm in the middle of a room that had corridors. I knew I had to pick a path. The corridors themselves were filled with water. The water stopped like a wall or door when it met the room I was in.
I chose the door on the right.
When I walked through the water, I was instantly transported to my highschool. On the football field, there were dozens of angels, shirtless, with black wings and black tattoos all over. I approached one angel, who I assumed was Gabriel, and asked him: "Does everyone have a soul, or are some people hollow? Are some like rocks and trees, they just 'exist'?"
The angel then told me "you have answered your own question " and proceeded to point towards a community pool that I used in childhood. When I walked over to the pool, I looked in the water and saw (what looked like) a dead girl, maybe 7 years old. The corpse then opened its eyes and swam down the drain. I stayed at the pool because I didn't want any kids to die; I watched over them. After some time, I noticed kids were being pulled under water. I jumped in, saved the kids and tried to kill the monster but it escaped through the drains again. After the kids were safe, I noticed bubbles coming from a pond, so I approached it. I climbed a tree to get a better view. When I looked down, the bubbles became more intense and this abomination (part 1)

took a nap earlier today. in the dream was standing in the garage, and noticed someone walking up the driveway toward the already open garage door.
i couldn't make out their face, so i started walking toward them to get a better look. the person had a faint illumination around them, and i couldn't tell who it was until i was standing within arms reach.
it was my dad who died in 2012. he was in a good, calm mood. i think he was eating something like a small bit of club sandwich.
once i realized it was him, it was like i had forgotten he died, and it was normal that i was standing there with him. i gave him a one armed hugged and he said either "hope you're feeling better", or "glad to see you're feeling better". i pretty much woke up right after that. am pissed i didn't stay asleep longer. haven't had a dream where i've been able to talk to him in a long time.
i wish i was dead too honestly this sucks

Jumps out of the water, shaking the tree violently. I fell out but held onto a branch. Below me, the monster waited for me to get tired and fall
The monster looked grayish pale with a bulbish head...female and somewhat frail. Where forearms and hands would be, sharpened bone (from the mutilated forearm) stuck out.
As I hung on the branch, I kept expecting one of the angels to save me. Then I woke up.
Shortly after this, I began experiencing intense episodes of sleep paralysis and obes. The dreams I could control were beautiful and I woke up rejuvenated, even if it was only a 15 minute nap. The terrifying dreams, typically sleep paralysis episodes, scared the living shit out of me. These lasted throughout my twenties then became rare in my 30s.
Not even trying to be funny, but there was a sleep paralysis dream similar to this gif, where my staircase collapsed into hell and some demon or the devil was slowly marching up the stairs closer towards my room.
It seemed like an eternity but was only 10 minutes of sleep.

If it's what you want. Nobody in the world is going to care about your problems as much as you, it's as simple as that. You come to the conclusion eventually, either I kill myself or deal with the bullshit. Doesn't matter what happened to you, it's the same thing for everyone who has to deal with anything. Either you kill yourself or you don't. If you don't you can live on trying to make what you've got left as comfortable as possible or you can live on cursing yourself, at which point you're only living to be a pussy.

I had a dream as grown man that scared me to the point of tears once. I was inconsolable for several minutes even after being awake.

I've had a dream that didn't scare me quite to tears, but pretty near to it. I was a mother, discovering my son was the antichrist. The most memorable part was when the boy was sat on the toilet, making some kind of noise. I checked on him, and he took on the form of my father. He started grotesquely fingering his urethra flicking his tongue around and moaning and smiling at me like a demon. I saw a knife on the counter by the toilet. As soon as I saw it I knew that he knew I saw it. He grabbed it and I slammed the door and held it shut. He slashed my feet with the knife from under the door. I ran painfully out of the house and eventually was at a police station. I was in a waiting area after telling them the situation. A caretaker kind of lady walked out of a questioning area with my son, she glanced at me and quickly looked away, then started talking sweetly to the boy. The boy smiled at me maliciously as my heart sank. They thought I was crazy and negligent/abusive to him. Hurt myself and blamed it on him. Then I woke up incredibly stressed.

the only recurring vivid dream ive ever had is a nightmare I had repeatedly from maybe 5ish to 10ish. I'm late 20s now and haven't had any similar dream since.

shes still maybe 10-20 yrs from that stage in her life. maybe young me struggling with the concept of death and losing a loved one.

I used to have recurring nightmares of the hatman. Even some of the ones he wasn't in visually had the vibe that he was controlling things. The most recent one was a couple years ago. He was like a shadow puppet dancing against the trees in my backyard. There was a gathering at my house. As people looked out at him and went outside, they started turning into mindless zombies attacking the ones that hadn't turned. I had to defend my mom from them.

I’ve been consistently shitting my pants in my dreams lately. Mind you I’ve had some really cool ones but it’s like every other night I’m walking around with a Stanley steamer in my pants

I have been dabbling in this shit for a decent chunk of time. Writing them down made them become more vivid. It also had the strange effect where it felt like the days were continuous, like I didn't sleep at night. I was not any more tired but again just the loss of time discernment. I stopped doing it because I figured human brains should not work like that.

For some reason, the most vivid recurring dreams that I have involve me walking around and exploring brutalist architecture similar to picrel. There's nothing particularly symbolic that seems to happen. I just walk around, no one else is there, and judging by the grime and vegetation no one has been there for a long time. I see many staircases. It's a different building each time but it always feels like the same place.
I've never had dreams as vivid as when I visit this place. One time I walked up to a glass door and breathed on it. I could see the condensation on the glass, feel the cold, and smell my breath. Never been able to do that before.
I live in a rural area too and have no particular attachment to this kind of place, so I really don't know what it's supposed to represent.

A lot of my dreams when I was young were about exploring either brutalist architecture like that, or vast empty fields with metal kids play park structures in the middle. But grass as far as the eye could see, peak of summer so blue sky and very warm/dry.

Almost always accompanied by the feeling of abandonment and I was usually alone

Does anyone ever have the "more real than reality" in dreams sometimes? In most of my lucid dreams I don't have much freedom, if I try anything crazy I either get wrapped up in the narrative and lose lucidity or I wake up, so most of the time I just look around.

In some dreams I just find the vividness mindblowing. For example, there was one lucid dream where I was walking down a street in "my neighborhood." I became lucid and flew a bit, looked around and thought the trees and street were so beautiful and I could see the little granular detail on the street even from high above. I flew down and picked up a rock. I just marveled at how much *substance* it seemed to hold despite being a creation of my mind. I turned it around, held it closer to my face, and how real it felt filled me with some kind of euphoria. I eventually flew up and over the city. I saw cars driving around, people getting out of their cars and walking into stores. I think I flew down to try to talk to somebody but immediately lost lucidity and forgot what happened next.

i am fairly certain that some of my dreams are other people's experiences that i am re-experiencing as i sleep
its hard to describe, but there is a class of dreams where 1) i know i'm "someone else", and 2) it feels much more 'realistic', 'solid', or overall coherent than most dreamscapes. these dreams are usually very active events (like being murdered, getting rowdy at a party, experiencing an accident, etc.), but sometimes they're also extremely mundane (e.g. driving down a boring stretch of highway, sitting in some random classroom barely paying attention to the teacher droning on, etc.)
after some reflection, i found the one thing they have in common is that they're times people are more likely to disassociate
my theory is that experience is a pretty basic fundamental part of the universe, and so if you don't "get all of it" as it happens to you then it needs to bleed off somewhere else in order to be felt by any experiencer that can actually connect to it, and dreams are the easiest pathway for them to take. i also don't believe this is tied to the 'present moment' - past experiences are just as possible to pick up as future ones as long as they're "loose on the wind" for whatever reason
does this resonate with anyone else? i haven't come across similar ideas yet, but if there's already some thoughts along these lines floating around i'd be curious to read up on them

I've had multiple dreams in which I am somebody else whose dying, and I'm filled with an uncharacteristic sense of bliss and oneness. Once as an old woman who realized her time had come, staring out at a park lake until her capacities all slowly give out. Collapsed to the ground, sight fades, smiling in a euphoria, the feeling of the grass on my skin fades, all sound fades, just the euphoria. Then I'm in my bed smiling. Another time I was a fawn, fleeing from a wolf. It caught me and tore into my neck. My body ran cold, but the warmth of the wolf's mouth as it licked and ate at my wound was comforting like being by a fire in winter. There was comfort in the knowledge that I was bringing it nourishment. I felt a oneness with the wolf and a oneness with everything. Then again, the euphoria remained as all else faded up until I was in my bed.

The weird way these dreams fade seamlessly into reality without me having any groggy confused waking always give a sense of "reality somewhere" to them. Like I was experiencing something from someone else. I wonder if sometimes in our last moments, we call out to the universe to not be alone, and sometimes we're met by other minds coming to be with us and comfort us.

and yeah, that definitely makes sense. especially for the ones involving death or dreadful confusion, it feels as if witnessing this thing first hand is providing some sort of service and/or fulfilling some sort of need

i have had a few dreams that stuck with me over the years, but only one or two have reached that truly esoteric feeling to them

I dreamed that I was the guard of a school's jail for no-good students and I threw tear gas in the cell as a joke

A while ago I had this dream where I was looking outside a window. The sky began raining green text and a woman in the room with me hugged me and I hugged her. A sensation of pure love was radiating through our bodies as she said: We're going to CURA COS. We melted together and became one. The sensation of pure love changed to doubt as a wave of anxiety took its place. Woke up.
