They found water - yet again. Just like they find it on the moon every couple of months or so, even though they already did a million times before, but people always forget since the last time and act if it's a totally new discovery.

If NASA actually gave a fuck about finding evidence of life on Mars, here's what they'd do next time instead of sending a remote control car-sized rover to drive all over the place:

Instead of wheels, solar panels, batteries, and cameras, and other instruments to navigate and look out at the boring landscape, pinpoint land the same sized payload in the most likely place you think you'll find evidence of life.

Instead of all the usual bullshit just have a nuclear battery/reactor to run a drill that drills straight into the ground and pulls up samples that are then analysed by the equipment on board that is ONLY dedicated to identifying signs of life. No weather measurements, no other faggy tag-along experiment packages, just drill baby drill until the reactor runs dry, and do definitive analysis for life. Whatever equipment you'd use to do that on Earth, miniturise it as much as possible, automate it, and put that on the non-rover instead.

But they wont. When we have AI robots that can do the work of a human they still wont send them there and tell them to just spend 24/7 looking for evidence of life in the most likely place. Makes you wonder why not.

The answer is money with this incremental bullshit they do, where they get just enough information to justify sending another mission. NASA is a scam.

Probably will be something lame like microorganisms in the water or atmosphere of Mars: "ALIENS CONFIRMED!!!"
