People don't realize that every single country where it's illegal to have a gun, is a crime ridden shithole.
Take a look at Europe. South America. Some places in Asia.
This is coming from someone that lives in countries just like that. Many people here go to work or school not knowing if they'll come back home alive or not, or if their daughters will get raped and killed or not, since someone can rob you and shoot you just because they feel like it.
People here literally beg for the right to have firearms. Some get illegal ones because they got traumatized due past encounters with bad people.
Will the government give people those guns back? Never. Once they're gone, it's gone.
The american 2nd amendment is unique, special, and even considering all gun related crimes, all school shootings, suicides, everything you can think of, you're still way better off having those guns than without.
People begging for a disarmed US have no idea what that would truly mean.
Between concentrating all armed power in the hands of the state alone, and all the US gangs being able to commit crimes knowing that the average person is defenseless, your country would fall apart in less than a month.
