Christians are en mass in their exoteric capacity taught to externalize their Faith. They are discouraged from things like meditation, esoteric and independent practice, and mysticism. They are taught to operate in religious expression through dogma, theology, doctrinal belief, and literal interpretation of their holy book. They are discourages from independent practice and taught that things such a personal gnosis, following their internal voices, and cultivation of faith in self or personal identification with God or Christ are from satan, the adversary, or demons. They are not trained in biblical literacy, encouraged to interpret their scripture through personal experience and so have self referential and circular reasoning which limits their ability to experience their own mysteries.

Christians are trained to shut out and shut down Wisdom and Truth if it comes from anywhere outside of their bubble and in doing so deny God and Truth as first principles. In this they cut off their connection with the core of their Faith through fear and willing ignorance. This is why they develop no mystics and when they do they martyr them so they can reinterpret their mystics for institutional power. Even Aquinas himself rejected his Magnum Opus of Christian Theology once he had direct mystical experience of Christ and God.

Christians en masse mistake self righteousness, pride, arrogance, and ignorance of spirituality as Faith and neuter themselves from religious experience by doing so. They are modern pharisees, misleading the masses straight to the depths of hell.

There are profound mysteries and pure authentic experience within their institution for the discerning interdisciplinarian, but the exoteric religion en masse is a pit of arrogance and self righteousness built to perpetuate fear and disconnect people from direct personal experience. The fear state these people live in is detrimental to spiritual experience.
