Brain In A Vat is a thought experiment and fiction trope saying that a computer could trick a disembodied brain into thinking it is is in a normal situation, like walking in a field of flowers, or eating ice cream or talking to your boss at work. It does this by stimulating the areas of the brain for sight, hearing, feeling, smell, and taste.

How likely is this to be possible? Is it already a thing? Is is it possible we are already in such a situation?

I heard about scientists making human brain cells think they are a butterfly, but idk how sentient they are. Closest thing to thus I know so far.

I mean, its already kind of true. Eating ice cream solely based in reality is the chemical reaction and nutrients of cold sugar and lactose in the body, but the taste and emotional connotation is completely synthesized by your brain. Talking to your boss is physical waves hitting your ear drums but the meaning behind the words is created only by that brain in a vat that is your skull.

(Detracking the logic of Roko's Basilisk, and combining those ideas with brain in vat frame reference alterations, you can arrive at a state where whatever intelligence is inherently present in raw logic, lowest axiom mathematics, and so forth, would seek highest exploit potentials for itself, irregardless to the concept of time in our existence.

So, which generating content fields, are seemingly "boosted" for modern AI gen output?
