We never spoke about it again for the rest of the year. For years, he and I remembered this story. We saw each other years later, but we rarely spoke. We have a mutual friend who always arranges for us to see each other at events like birthdays. I asked him about the video, if he still had it. He said it strangely got corrupted, and then he deleted it, he didn't like to remember it.

I don't know if this story is interesting to /x/, but it's an obscure topic because it's a personal story. If /x/ is interested in the story (probably not), I can find a way to revisit the school, it's not too far from where I live.

checkout Vance Randolph's book Ozark Mythology and Folklore, along with Pissing In The Snow. he discusses encounters with the Blue Man of the Ozarks from locals. the blue men/people are seen around the same time as other situations, generally cattle mutilation. it appears that these blue creatures feed on those barnyard animals, and the locals are more or less ok with it, so long as it stays limited. one of the more biblical interpretations my literature teacher in high school mentioned was that the original Mormon settlers had perceived the Blue Man to be biblical Cain, forever wandering the Earth with a blue stain. she studied ozarks mythology and folklore specifically for her masters degree, and was one of maybe 10 similar people in the area. she knew/knows her stuff.

often described as being very tall, generally 12+ feet on average. my grandfather mentioned them occasionally, generally referring to something the mountain men, ridgerunner, and baldknobber types "in them thar hills" knew about. there are other cryptids, same as everywhere else. there is supposedly a colony or whatever or them on Mark Twain National Forest on the Ozarks plateau, another nest down by Grand Gulf and the fault line near the bootheel. there are some more eastward into Appalachia proper, but that turns into Loup Garou territory real quick, so that's not for me. those Appalachia hicks don't mind living around malevolent cryptids for some dumb reason.
