Science used to be about gaining knowledge just for the sake of gaining knowledge. For example sleep. Everyone of us spends ONE THIRD of his life in this weird state, yet we know basically nothing about it. These are the things we should try to figure out. But no, instead of this billions of dollars and ten thousands of great scientists minds are wasted on some shit like how to come up with new production technologies to make mass produced garbage a few cents cheaper. As this is posted on /x/ not /sci/ or /b/ the logical deduction a five year old could make is, that it's supposed to be about the possible connections between human sleep and the paranormal. It ties into a broader critique of the current state of science and how it fails to seek knowledge about some of the great mysteries that still remain about human life, like the reason why we need to sleep in order to survive.

Yeah the process of falling asleep is the easiest way for your consciousness to pass through the dimensional barrier. You can do it in waking life through meditation, which leaves you with more control over your actions and better recall of your experiences, but the waking mind is usually too repressed with negativity to go as deep as a dream can take you. hell realms... this is an interesting one. I once in a while, maybe a few times a year, have dreams in which I am overcome by a great sense of dread and doom the whole dream through, from beginning to end. The curious thing is, that the plot of those dreams is standard stuff, just your average dream, absolutely nothing special plot wise. But the whole dream there looms this very sinister feeling over me, which makes me want to escape at all costs. There really seems no better way to describe this as dreams where I have entered a "hell realm" through sleep.

That's interesting, it makes me wonder, do you have any kind of anxiety or are you a very confident person? It sounds the way I might imagine the experience of extreme anxiety would feel to someone who was unfamiliar with it. I do know that many a times, in dreams you will be shown or go through experiences that are very foreign to ones waking life. There have been times in dreams where I have gotten rekt and ended up with full blown paralisys which taught me to relate to that. I've dreamed of living as other animals and insects tp the point where I feel as though I understand their perception. I think most of the time, nightmare type situations in dreams are a test of sort you sort of put yourself through as a test of mettle and to give your mind a refence in case similar happens in waking life. I don't think the soul likes to put the mind/body through completely unknown situations so it will explore most all concepts in dreams, orr at least in my experience. I also believe that there are disembodied consciousnesses that sort of occupy the realms in which dreams occur, and those will be the really freaky ones that stick with you; when shit that's way outside of your frame of reference will go down and leave you bewildered.

I do have a lot of anxiety and am not very confident, which might play a role, but this feeling I have in those dreams does not compare in any way to the feelings of anxiety I experience in my day to day waking life. In fact it is a type of feeling I have never experienced in my whole life, therefore it is hard to describe it. These dreams are also different to nightmares in two senses: my nightmares happen to have very twisted and fucked up plots and the nightmare itself feels "short" time-wise, while the "hell realm" dreams have a normal plot, as I mentioned, and feel like they are dragging on forever.
