I think about this question a lot and it ends up making me think the equivalent of staring into the mind's abyss.
It ends up with the question of "why are we programmed to perceive pain and suffering as bad, and why do we view love and compassion as good?" Stripping away the fact "we just do", it's a matter of why? We could've been programmed to think pulling our limbs apart and pain as good, but we aren't.
Our definition and perception of what is good and bad could've literally been anything or nothing at all, which is a thought that is just as spiraling as thinking about what happened before the creation of the universe, or the creation of "God".
It's either two things or both things, you can accept the answer of non-duality and that there isn't a "good and evil" (which doesn't explain low/high vibrational frequency with said actions?), or that we are purposely and consciously designed to conquer pain and suffering and create peace and love one another. (might be a crude way of explaining that concept, but you get what I mean)
I think it's the latter, and thinking of these things made me accept and understand the concept of false duality, however the fact we perceive these things as universally good/bad makes me question why that is in the first place.
