Yes. This is I think the first star I ever encountered while astral traveling. I was pure awareness hovering over the surface of the star. Then I was sitting in the captains seat of a warship, having launched a star killing weapon at a star. Arcturus instructed me to change the timeline where my past life had done this, so I used telekinesis to redirect the weapon I had fired away from the star back to my own ship, and self destructed.

Here is an analogy for you. Imagine light is like an electrical wire connecting two points in space. It takes light x many years to get from one point to another but once the connection is made the information transfer along that wire is scalar, i.e, instantaneous.
