I have survived this twice in my life. The previous time I survived this was last year in November and I can only tell you that you can't choose whether or not you will survive it. Although the Lichtenberg figures do look impressive, the damage and the symptoms you get from being struck by lightning are no joke.

resistance in the body is what fucks you up
if you can properly lower the resistance in your body, it should pretty much just pass through/around you without harming you
but that's kind of a big if

Hook the top of your calf up to a lightning rod and the bottom up to the bottom part of your calf (This is to avoid the lightning going near organs like the heart or spine) then just wait, so long as the lightning has a path of least resistance which isn't going through your flesh it'll do that instead.

My 6th grade science teacher said he got struck by lightning when he was younger.
He said one of the side effects is that he either doesn't sleep, or barely sleeps at all, like 1 hour a night or something.
It sounded like he doesn't enjoy it because he gets bored and just watched the same movies over and over.

You can increase your chances by a great amount if you do this - you need an open field, preferably the most elevated spot you have on your horizon (think like at least a mile radius) with no trees or any other objects around. Take off your shoes and just think about whatever when a storm is about, remain within that spot. Raise your hands when you feel the air electrifying, that could be a seeker, it will help you close the circuit. Godspeed
