That's the thing.I no longer care for such things. The expectations of others hold no weight in my heart, and with that, all interest in their shallow pursuits has faded.
You might think such detachment would make me a ruthless climber, obsessed with power or fame. But I see no value in chasing illusions of status.
Perhaps I will abandon this hollow life altogether, live by my own strength and learn to grow crops or something, and sever all ties with society. If I take anyone with me, it will be those who understand the same truth.
