Apparently karma only affects if you have a soul. A yogi who has a blog meditated and saw a race of transhumanist aliens who remove their soul from their body to become immune to karma. And it worked because they could do whatever they wanted without consequences. Also, removing the soul has another consequence: you go into the void when you die, regardless of whether you are enlightened or not.

Consciousness is a function of the soul. No soul, no consciousness. Maybe these aliens are AI-robots, but then they're no sentient and alive.

Karma means action, it is not an intergalactic method of justice like neurotypicals like to think. Nobody is free from consequences, it just works differently than people think. Humans like to impose their morals onto the realm of the gods. Some are really close but can be off by miles with other things. I don't think you can fully remove the soul. I've met some of the drugged up pozzed people you can think of, but their possessions are not total erasure of the original host.

That is not how it works. Karma is not a magical repercussion system. It is simply cause and effect. There is nothing evil about cybernetics or enhancement technology, but your karmic path will be shaped by your decision nonetheless. If you then are enslaved or harmed by ill intentions, when you ostensibly know better or your society at large refused to rise against malpractice then the consequence is that your group will suffer.

Removing the soul is nonsense. Even if you were to override someone's free will with autonomous systems, those systems were still created and the seed was planted by some individuals. There is a clear chain of causality that can be traced.

Imagine the following, that group allegedly removed their soul and became maimed on the spirit. They accomplish deeds that the higher worlds can only witness through the experience of others. The web of casuality can still be traced and if there is no intelligence or ensouledneds behind the act it isnt different from a storm knocking over a pole and killing you.
