Give me the low down on psychics /x/. I got a reading a few days ago and while he said all the things I thought he'd say (you'll make more money, have a family, travel, etc.) there were a few things he got right that are either really lucky guesses or proof he has something.
I can't tell if he's a really great con man or legitimately gifted in some way. What's your take?

Psychics are just intuitive people with a keen eye for detail. They also try to make all predictions vague enough to always seem true, latching on to your reactions. Some even “Google you” or call relatives/employers to try to get some details to make themselves seem more legit.

Some might be real, but there’s a bias when researching psychics since only the highly synchronous predictions are culturally remembered. Nobody remembers all they got wrong if they got one big thing right.

>intuitive people
what exactly does this mean? Some people can read others like a book for no other reason than they just can?
He got more right than I'd care to admit (I guess it depends on your definition of vague) but again, what're the chances he's just a good guesser? It seems astronomically low that he'd get that much right but astronomically high it's just a con.

I’d compare it to playing 20 questions. It seems unlikely that someone would guess something like “surfing Pikachu” within 20 questions, but the player may manage to get it if they strategically ask the right rule-out questions.

Intuitive people don’t make random guesses. They build a model of knowledge and dynamically steer the conversation toward the illusion of accuracy. They would not only utilize the conversation but also context clues, such as your clothing, demeanor, posture, expression, accent, car, age, fitness, ethnicity, skin tone, phone lock screen, etc. As I said earlier, many will also Google you or Facebook stalk you to get even more details.

How psychic information works for me, is that I see visions within a cloudy mist of light, and when the cloud recedes I go full body into an interdimensional experience. Its hardly ever about anything directly physical in this world, and I don't get 'readings', which to me seem like total bullshit. Its always a full soul perception of existence from the spiritual plane, and I can sometimes directly help other souls do things there, but never about anything mundane or normie tier.
I'd say I'm a pretty strong psychic, but I have no contact with other so called psychics. All I can say is that my own experience seems way more profound than what other psychics claim, and that even on that level I can't do the things they claim to do, or that normies expect psychics to do in terms of 'readings', or other types of spoonfed feels. That leads me to believe almost every psychic is a con on some level. I bet I could con people this way too. My psychic ability doesn't tell me anything about them, or what they want or expect a psychic to tell them, but I could probably use it to gather enough information to make myself sound somewhat convincing to them.
