I know i'm not the only one who feels this way, it's been mentioned here many times. Since around 2012-2013, everything has just felt off. Not that i have had a bad life since then, but it just feels like there was a certain level of soul in the world and it disapeared somehow. It's not just about changes in goyslop media or anything, it's also the way people behave. Also it's not just nostalgia. So itt thread we discuss this topic.

Quick question for all of you (not OP)
In 2011-12, did it ever feel weird to see anything mention the year 2013? Like it wasn't supposed to exist?
I don't know if I was just a retard or not, but it felt strange to see "summer 2013" like if it were a fake date at the time. Same for 14, 15, 16, etc. (especially 2017-2019)
I didn't believe in the Mayan calendar stuff or the end of the world was to happen in 2012 either. Anyone else?

2012 is when the 2008 brrrrrrrrrrrrrr finally had effect and inflation started to appear it's when long term projects became impossible due to inflation and everything in the economy like nations or even companies started to favor short term projects.

So you went from artistic projects like mass effect games being released every 2 years or fallout games every 2 years to basically companies reselling videogame skins.

The same happened for everything like politics becoming about tranny bathroms since the economy can't really fix real issues.

So yeah soul did go out of the world it's not manifesting due to monetary conditions harvesting it for it's own reasons.

It's true. Pay attention next time you're driving around your city - all of the colors are gone.

Cars used to be red/blue/green/orange/yellow/black/white - in that order of popularity. Now they're ALL black/white/grey/silver.

Houses used to be multi-colored, now they're all tan/grey. My childhood house was yellow, my neighbors was dark blue, and across the street was dark red. This would be seen as absurd today.

Electronics were colorful from 1960-2012. 2012 hit and suddenly everything is black/white.

The sky is a pale white/light blue as opposed to the deep ocean blue it used to be.

The evidence that we are living in the end times is overwhelming.

around 2011 Neptune moved into Pisces kicking off the woke era, Pisces made everyone more delusional, spiritual, and empathetic. but thats all ending now as in 2026 Neptune moves permantly into aries. Instead of social justice warriors it will be actual warriors, and spiritual warriors

>This period is expected to blend Neptune's themes of spirituality and imagination with Aries's energy of action and courage, potentially leading to bold spiritual awakenings, a renaissance in art and mysticism, and a collective drive for reinventing ideals

Smartphones and social media literally destroyed the world. People can deflect all they want but this is the truth. Every single negative thing that you are describing can be traced in some way back to the release of the first iPhone. The damage didn't really start to show until about 2012 or so, since that's when social media went super mainstream and boomers discovered the internet. That was the final nail in the coffin of civilization. Everyone has been enslaved by algorithms ever since. If somehow, miraculously, the whole world just decided to spontaneously ditch their smartphones and go back to the way life was in 2006, the world would instantly change overnight in a very positive way. Also, it's important to note that it's not just about "propaganda" and shit like that, it's about the fact that the collective unconscious literally plays a role in manifesting reality itself, especially at the outer level of reality (i.e. international politics and celebrity type stuff) and social media echo chambers basically created unstable feedback loops that drove the collective unconscious insane and caused this chaos to manifest into reality, which is why the world has felt so unreal ever since this time frame you are referring to, OP. The only realistic option that could reset the world to a previous state would be another Carrington Event, although obviously that would cause short term chaos before the world rises from the ashes

We entered a new cycle then. Essentially a new universe from our perspective. It's similar but different, there is less joy, more corruption, etc. Subtle hints like Mandela effects confirm this.

Yep, 2012 was a legit date, but seeing 2013 written was like seeing 2538, it just doesn’t feel real or realistic.

2012 a lot of anons had a faded memory of a nuclear war/ nukes going off everywhere

My ongoing theory is that 2012 was the last good year, 2013 was the death, GTAV was the gravestone at the end of it all.

Around that time everyone I knew became extremely hostile to one another. People blew up friendships and their whole social circles over crazy shit, sometimes political (the other side is evil), some of it economic (we can’t be friends because you’re too rich/poor), sometimes over girls or other stupid shit. Highschools started the Obama psyops in the classrooms at this time. Also the classes of 2014 and 2015 were very different from the people who came before them. When I was in school all the grades would hang out and interact, but this was stopped by teachers and others around this time, they didn’t want the culture passed down past this point.

Then the cultural enshittification began, they destroy Star Wars, fallout, and everything, 2014-15 was the indie game surge because normal games were shit, same with movies, go look at the top box office movies for 2010-2012 and then 2013-2015, the divide is clear.

This is what spurred on the whole Trump wave, plus gamergate, making everyone hyper aware of politics, and with the sham 2020 trump loss and 2024 trump win, they’ve drawn out the 2016 “both sides pick an outsider because they’re sick of the government” narrative to a decade, and the right who selected Trump initially is way past sick of him now. Then they brought the trans and Hispanic boogeyman to essentially threaten the right “if you don’t support us the left will be putting trans in schools and letting 10 million Mexicans come here”.

This is all a runoff from occupy walstreet, and all done to run out the clock on so many things, boomers and older with their shit together all retire etc..

Games are a huge part of culture, the key word is “Monoculture”, it’s the thing that EVERYONE knows. Movies and TV also. Making Fallout or Star Wars shit is a way to make people who like those things feel like shit, it’s like cultural terrorism, it makes people go “what the fuck, this thing I love sucks, it was part of my identity and now I hate it.”

2012-2013 is when front facing cameras got added to iPhones, i remeber I could tell who had the new iPhone without even seeing their phone because they had a weird sort of aura to them, like they were always on camera.

This time was also a big shift from rock to rap as the most popular music. It had been happening before that, but I know the graduating class of 2005-2010 liked rock music a lot more than 2011-2016 graduating classes who like rap.

One dude who was younger than me explained it to me.
>everyone in my grade is huge faggots
>I’m a football and lacrosse guy, but I hang out with these guys(my three nerdy stoner friends who were a year older than him)
>the sports guys in your grade all hang out together, do you know why I hang out with these 3 fags?
>because everyone in my grade is a huge faggot, not just that they don’t smoke weed or whatever, they don’t fucking do anything
>they are like babies, they don’t want to go out, they don’t want to have parties, and they’re mentally like 7 years old
>when you were a sophomore you had 3 or 4 different groups of students who would be doing cool shit like smoking or drinking at a party or making some rogue science project that was funny, the theater kids were even doing funny stuff like singing in the lunch room or raiding classrooms with Hamlet acts
>that doesn’t exist anymore, none of these people even want to do anything after school, even a Friday or Saturday the most they’ll do is game together on Xbox live, they don’t even have a sleepover
>you guys were the last ones to actually do stuff

This is subjective and not really reflective of culture-death as a whole, but to me everything lost a little bit of soul when HD became mainstream. I know this sounds like some zoomer analogfag shit but there was a certain level of comfort of watching things or playing games in 4:3 on a fuzzy TV.

Then when we went into le 2010's it felt like everything had to overcompenstate because it now "the future". HD became mainstream, colors became washed out, everyone started looking and dressing like a normie with gay parted fades and boring samey clothes. Normie music genuinely became unlistenable as opposed to just bad.

2015 was for me the nail in the coffin. The world will never be the same after that year, any hope of chance was completely obliterated and things have been on a decline since

I think about this a lot, because it seems like time has really gotten away from us

2001 9/11 was a big cutoff date for all the older people, but realistically it wasn’t a huge change in the culture except that they pushed patriotism and war stuff more. The 90’s culture of malls and pizzerias and arcades full of people lasted well into the 2000’s, the real divide was 2008. 2008 financial collapse rekt some families and made everyone spend less. The people who went broke started to hold grudges on the people who didn’t, and the people who had money started to save it more and not spend in ways that “looked rich”, because it might offend the people who lost money. I saw this with both upper and lower class people. One of my friends dads canceled their vacation because our other friends dad went broke and he didn’t want to make them feel bad.

During this time we got Harry Potter, The Marvel Movies, Lord of the Rings, The Star War Sequels, Call of Duty 4- Black Ops, Fallout 3 and New Vegas, Halo 3, The Heyday of Pokémon, Adult comedy animations like Family Guy and South Park were actually good, Stephen Colbert was funny, Tosh and Web Soup, flash games and videos-

The one thing everyone thought was “imagine how great this is gonna be in 10 years”, that’s what everyone expected, then in 2012-2013 EVERYONE got this sort of idea in their heads that “it’s all over”

Covid in 2020 was a huge solidifier of this new way to be. People became absolutely venomous for their side of the vax debate, Trump also did a lot of work on this, but at this point, everyone is tuned in to the whole thing, no movie or videogame can ignore it, they’re either woke or not woke, EVERYONE has an opinion on trump. When bush was in office the left was crying constantly about him, and the right would sometimes laugh along with them. Now is similar but it’s not cute, it’s not jibjab dot com, now people want blood, they’ve gone mad.
Anonymous No.41322990

I remember when they were advertising videogame realism and gamers were mad because they were making games look real instead of being fun, and the gamers did a whole push for “worse graphics are better”. For a long time gamers would ironically claim to want worse graphics, it was a major meme, and the it just.. went away. Come to find out the push for good graphics in games was some sort of op to make realistic graphics for some glowy op shit and not for games.

2012- the last real year
2013- sucking the last bit off the bone
2014- realizing the old world is dead and everything sucks
2015- trying to find anything else to do now that stuff is shit
2016-2018- becoming a normie and doing “what you’re supposed to”
2019-2023- getting your shit together and pandemic ruins it and everything for years
2024-2025- post rape, “did that just really happen”, everyone is waiting for Epstein files and Covid arrests like “umm hello, what the fuck”, but the psychopath is pretending everything is fine as he goes to set up his next crime.

1990s -> people were friendly, video cameras were introduced widely and most people were shy to be recorded, so many classic movies were made with upbeat positive tones and optimism
2000s -> 9/11 obviously and our govt overreacted and went after some of the right people but mostly just sand people that knew nothing of what happened. People started getting cell phones and always calling or texting people instead of conversing with the people in front of them at the table or party. Everyone started to become a suspected terrorist or mass shooter if you held any non traditional views.
2010s -> Obummer and social media including boomers and teens. Everything was a psyop including obummer asking blacks to ask their white coworkers and classmates if they “see color”. Harambe and Kony 2012 psyops. Everyone has an iPhone now with pretty decent video quality scaring everyone that anything they do or say could be recorded. Gay marriage legalized and they didn’t stop there trying to freak out even libertarians that never comprehended this flagrant evil as possible.
2020s -> covid hoax that maybe wasn’t really real but many people wished was to see the awful boomers go bye bye. Made us wear masks as a way to tell us that our voice doesn’t matter to the powers that be. Too many psyops and wars to mention. Everything is blurry and the internet is finally overtaking television. Rise of artificial intelligence not knowing what is real or fake. Lots of celebrity deaths and death in general. So many wildfires and strange happenings especially with aircraft. I dont know where we’re headed but I think there is no going back.

Yeah, the early 2010's were a wonderful time where it felt like things were only gonna get better. Then, around the mid 10's it all went to hell. Democracy movements failed, the media turned extremists into "populists" who subsequently started to gain control over every facet of culture and politics, the refugee crisis, the Covid pandemic, the Ukraine war, the Palestinian genocide...

At some point, the future that seemed to be inevitable had failed to manifest and all history past that point has been the history of hell. Something profoundly cruel and evil.

they push "muh clean aesthetic" because they are creatively bankrupt and/or try to hide their deviancy by pretending to look "clean"
look at windows 11 for example. everything is either white or black, no color no life. even compared to windows 10 you had at least blue there. going back to 7 you literally could choose a slideshow of nature as your desktop background. now? you get a white cage and you'll like... no you'll LOVE it.
why mix colorful paint that gets dulled as sun shines at it when you can paint your house/car in g(r)ay color and not worry about it?
you want furniture? here's a white cube or black cube from ikea (made in chinese cardboard factory)
want some house decorations? why not put on some black letters spelling something happy to your depressive looking white-black prison cage?

I had graduated by then, but t’s weird that even younger people who were still in school feel like that was the end. It felt like everyone just kinda gave up. For example, my friends mom was always bringing her kids around to do things, band practice, school plays, sports, she was always running around and having other moms over and letting all the kids hang out. Then after 2012 when her oldest son graduated, she just stopped. Before it was like a Wednesday was interesting, there’d be like 4 activities for her kids and their friends and then we’d all eat watermelon in the yard. Then after that even a big event didn’t seem like anything special.

People went nuts politically. I went to one of our friends houses once and he like tried to warn us about his mom. So she walks in and starts asking if we like Obama, and tells us to our face that her son is banned from hanging out with us ever again because “we were evil for not caring about Obama”.

One friend group that was a bunch of the popular girls in our school had a major falling out cuz one of them went nuts and fucked a bunch of their boyfriends and other random guys.

Like 4 of my friends all started hating eachother and when I asked them to explain they literally couldn’t, they just “think he’s an asshole”, and got into fist fights. These are people that hung out all day at school and after school for years.

Colleges also went to shit, for some reason around that time there was a huge crackdown on drinking and smoking, I think some people like OD’ed on alcohol and the schools had to be extra vigilant they weren’t “enabling” the college students. There were 4 different colleges I went to around then that all seemed so bland and terrified, because they were doing a major crackdown on drinking and smoking, people were literally like scared and paranoid all over and multiple parties got shut down.

There’s a 4 year highschool, college, and president cycle, so people in high school in late 2008 during the financial collapse would be graduating in 2012. It feels like people “kept up looks” for that time, and then just kinda gave up.

2025 might as well be 2038, 2099, 2494 it's like every year was leading up to something but the something is over so it's all just nonsense.
2012 was the last good year, when it started getting stupid, but was still plausible. After 2020 the world is fucking gone and I'm done pretending it's not.
I wish I could convey this feel to you bros. But I'm sure you know already as you probably feel it too.
It used to be like haha how crazy would it be if we lived in a simulation or something? Haha
Now it's just obvious. It's so obvious that EVERYONE is aware of it. I'm not talking about le life is an xbox meme. I mean that reality just isn't actually real. We are not in base reality.
So recently after I got done reading a post from the american president where he used a conscious computer to make a video of himself dumping shit on americans, at first I thought wow how unusual, then I remembered it's exactly how one would behave if nothing actually mattered.

Guess what else. I remember when the LHC had just wrapped up development it was a serious question if when they actually used it, it might create a black hole. Everyone brushed this off for some reason saying oh they would just fizzle out instantly.
Yeah right bro, it's a black hole, it sucks everything in, that's what they do. They don't just fizzle out.
If you create a singularity on earth it would instantly warp the whole thing and eventually swallow the galaxy.

I long for the days when politics was boring. Everyone knew who the President was but most couldn't name the VP or a single senator, and the only time you even heard about politics was the few weeks directly surrounding a Presidential election every 4 years.

Now it's a neverending reality show that soaks up 90% of people's attention 24/7 and way too many people are convinced that if they repeat their side's talking points loud and often enough they will actually make a difference so they never STFU
Anonymous No.41326645 >>41327280
PS. How could you know that time is moving faster if you directly experience it? I.e. you wouldn't notice if time stopped for a while and started again.
>A: Your consciousness is attached to your body but is independent of it so you can judge reality as a sort of outside observer.
This is also the answer to why everything feels fake and retarded, because you can easily tell it is, the same way you can tell that purple flying elephant you saw in a dream was bogus.
Whatever system we're experiencing is breaking down or already broke.

I remeber when shrooms started coming around, all my druggy friends were like “don’t trip and then start thinking we live in a simulation.” And like a bunch of stoners talked their friend down from thinking that because even as druggies they knew it was “a bad thought” that could drive people to do crazy shit.

Now EVERYONE is being told this by scientists and the media, and most people belive it.

The old info I got was that earth was destroyed so they launched a giant computer simulation into space that could simulate consciousness as a way of making humanity survive. 3i/atlas.. could be one of these.

The world is spinning too fast

This is exactly what i was talking about. I was a kid at the time, and pre-2012 my family would always beg me to play outisde. But after that they would never want me to, and were always freaked out if i did. It's like the party's over, and everyone just gave up. Maybe it's a combination of parents getting older and doing less stuff, and becoming helicopter parents and not letting their children develop.

In school we used this program called canva to make images, slideshows, etc. You could add stickers and text. Anyway, i remember using it for a school project and thinking to myself, damn all of these fonts and stickers are ugly. Literally everything on the site is ugly and soulless as fuck.

OP here, i feel the same way but didn't include that because i figured it was just me. 4:3 has so much more SOVL than 16:9. Squares make more sense to focus your vision on than rectangles. Perfection is boring, and i prefer the camera quality from the 2000s. It looked more real and human to me. Smartphone camera quality is soulless, i can't explain why but it looks even more perfect than real life.

>It's like the party's over
Yeah, this is exactly what it was. Pre 2012 on any weekend there were multiple houses with people we knew chilling and smoking or drinking. But after 2012 the image I have in my head is like 20 chicks outside of a house party that just got shut down all on their cell phones trying to find a place to go. This became more and more common of a sight as I got older. It ended up being most weekend we’re just groups of friends showing up somewhere, the place getting shut down, and they run to the next place before it too gets shut down.

We all knew it as it was happening too, in 2013 I would literally say, “this is the end of an era, we won’t be doing this in a few years, so it’s worth it to use my time now to be a loser and party and have fun because it’s gonna suck when it’s over.” And I was right.

We used to have random older people show up at our highschool parties, and they were mostly chill, not really too many bad stories, but even a year or 2 after we graduated we’d ask our friends who were still in highschool what was going on, they’d all say the same thing: nothings going on and nothing is ever going on.

They really really pushed people apart from eachother and destroyed major parts of society.

When I was a freshman we talked to the seniors, but when I was a senior the zoomers avoided us. One time one of them had some funny scooter decorated like a boat for a project, gliding down the hall, I said “that’s so cool” and a teacher rushed over “don’t talk to him”, that kinda freaked me out, they didn’t want the new gen z people interacting with older kids at all, this was definitely part of the Obama school psyops they were running. They also asked us who we’d want to fuck in our class, fucking freaks.

It's situational. For me 2025 has been a pretty comfy year, even though I'm fully aware the world around me is going to absolute shit. But in my own little bubble everything is good. The weather is good in Straya, I finally feel content with my body, I finally know what I want to do with my life.

My point here is that it's impossible to say which year was the one that "everything changed for the worse" because A. it's subjective and B. The world is always changing anyway. For example everyone says 2013 was THAT year, and I get why, because social media exploded that year and everything started to truly feel "globalised". But there's also some dude out there who still thinks 9/11 was the death of everything, and same with the recession, and every other catastrophe that's come between and after. There's a million dates you could point to.

I don't feel really that bad about 2013. It was a good time to be alive for a young person and I'm nostalgic for it now. And same with 2016, and 2020, and so on.

I don't personally believe we are in a computer simulation as some say, like you heard. That might be possible but I doubt it since we are not even sure what consciousness is yet, if it arises from matter, and if does how that happens.
I do however 100% know this isn't base reality, but I lean spiritual. What we call spirits and magic now are probably not that magical in that reality. We just won't realize that until we get there.

It is objectively better but it's not an accurate representation of reality now matter how many pixels it has or how high the fidelity is. The proportions are never right, it makes peoples heads look bigger than they are and their faces longer. The color is also never quite right.

Old film photos or even digital cam photos from the early oughts aren't accurate either but they have a soul that smartphone pics don't. Nobody is going to look at iPhone 13 photos 30 years from now and feel a sense of longing or nostalgia.

Just this Sunday I was on a walk with my wife and I pointed to her how every car is grey, silver, black, there is basically no color anywhere on the street. The only way to see some color is to add it yourself in your own home, or walk the fuck away from any city or town and go into the woods. Even people's clothes are colorless, mostly black with white scratches or doodles at most. Colorful clothing does not exist (compare it to traditional clothing of any culture ever, where it's all extremely colorful and elaborate)
We're getting spiritually genocided and it's showing in the way we exteriorize ourselves. There is no nuance in anything. Everything is mute and dry

I feel like color is coming back a little bit. It was very fucking bad from like 2012-2020 when literally everything was silver, grey, white, black, beige and brown. Clothes, cars, home decor, technology, resturants, you name it. But since 90's and 00's aesthetics have come back into fashion among zoomies I'm seeing a lot more color and personality in the street which I'm pretty proud of. Lots of unique textures too that aren't just cotton and polyester. Even the new iphone is like orange or purple or some shit like that

2012 was the year we switched off from reality and plugged in to our own. The Remote in Faction Paradox explain this well

There is soul out there still. It's just not contained in a shitty TikTok sound byte or a video of someone else's experiences. You have to go and find it, and take it for yourself, or someone else will.

Yeah 2012 probably is the last year that felt real. The last time I felt my own age, that my family was my own family, my country my own country, websites felt like home instead of cold and alienating, the media felt like I thing I looked forward to participating in, etc.

Smartphones hit real popularity while I was in high school. One of my friend's garage was the designated hang out and smoke spot. Was always great with lots of people until about ~60% got smartphones. Our silly ass chill sessions just turned into everyone smoking while vegging on their phones. I specifically remember being one of the last to get one because poorfag at the time and it fucking sucked to just sit there in the quiet. I was not the only person to storm out of there when things devolved to phone. Eventually it really took hold and everyone was an addict anyway. Nobody left to complain. That was about the end of high school when we all went our separate ways anyway. In any case, there was a distinct shift and literally everyone with an ounce of sensitivity noticed.

This is true, but the 2000's felt like everyone was on the same page for once. Boomers, gen x, millennials and young zoomers were equally happy. The 2020's on the other hand are really only good for teen zoomers who are too young to realise how rough things are, and rich boomers who are too far removed and Facebook-rotted to know what's going on.
