It's a ship, but it's more than likely one of ours.
The government ordered it to go out there and act like a "comet" to get people to stop talking about Epstein. They're really pissed off that it hasn't been memoryholed and are trying every semantic in the book to get people off their backs about it.
The drones that have been sighted in concordance with it's arrival are 100% ours too.
If it is actually aliens, then it's not the grays, reptilians, nords or mantoids. It's technology and methods of propulsion are too different from us or them, if they're here to actually try and help out and aren't with the dickheads that are supporting prison planet, then they'll likely be a part of bluebeam to get people to think they're here to invade to keep the simulation running, and most will get on board with it.
Either way, it's existence isn't threatening the news cycle and it's an encouraged thing for people to talk about.
This thing isn't going to bring about the end of the world. It's just another thing being used to justify it.
