>This feels like I'm entering Meister Eckhart territory
Yup, he nailed it. Monist Emanationism. Viewing Christianity through that lens immediately makes it make sense
>So with this understanding , how do you conduct your daily life and practice
I understand the nature of God and seek proximity to it. I think about it all the time every day. I don't need to make much choice, as it all tends to align to God's will. It sort of happens automatically. If something feels, "off" I just don't do it and stay away from it. I ONLY want to be closer to God and it bleeds into everything whether I'm conscious of it or not.
>core buddhism
Advaita Vedanta buddhism is literally identical to Meister Eckhart and early Christian Mysticism. It's a 1:1 exact mapping
>I don't even know if I buy the heroic man angle
I'm not certain of the veracity of the historical tale as a literal account of truth. It doesn't matter to me if it is true or not, but I lean strongly in favor that it actually did occur
>there's a gnostic tale
Many Gnostic sects are literal satanic covens. They view God itself as the demi-urge and try to convince you to usurp it by becoming the God of your own universe. They frame God as a parasite that is snorting your life experiences because it can't nourish itself without your suffering. It's so dumb man, but it's very common. I'd stay away from self proclaimed Gnostics. I had a Gnosis moment, but I would never call myself a Gnostic
> god, why has thoust forsaken me
He was probably speaking as Jesus the man there, not the Logos. He was just scared and in pain. It was also apparently in reference to another prophecy/Biblical passage. Fulfilling Malachi(?) maybe
