My position is a tough social environment is beneficial to some people more than others. Large collections of people are a complex subject upon which the law of the excluded middle isn't relevant (it's not black and white.) However, if one had to construct an ideal social environment, it would probably be an orderly and polite one in which people dress in white robes so to speak and communicate mainly for a productive end. Monks for example enjoy shared spiritual and intellectual aims. It's pure. Nevertheless, the unbridled freedom to spout sex, violence and sharp tensions of the ego also has its own value and serves a purpose. Remember that when Western people were tougher in the old days, they were also more faithful to rules of etiquette. Modern history destabilized those conditions to get the hugbox/cagefight polarity we have today. The millenials and zoomers posting on 4chan mostly have no clue what that old social environment is like and shouldn't pretend to.
