Problem is only some are willing to help through the loosh. You're right about evil loosh being harvested by evil aliens, but for it to be powerful enough is very rare; what happens is cybernetic species and "species" depend on the loosh functioning a certain way for the technology to function. If the loosh goes against their ways enough something in one of their memory banks changes, or something more extreme, change in their circuitry or what have you, their atoms, and it can't even be helped.
