In my experience, habitual use of marijuana slowly destroys memory, vocabulary, and personality. It disconnects your body from your mind so when you're around friends, family and good food and experiences you aren't really there, you can't find words even when you know what you want to express. It also promotes sexual degeneracy.
As a neurodivergent teenager who knew about conspiracies, paranormal, etc at that age, I was not inclined to believe what the government tells us and generally accepted as fact that we were living in a giant mind control program and the truth is being hidden and such, so when you hear the government's lying, marijuana has all kinds of hidden health and even psychic benefits, etc as a kid it's very easy to fall right in to that programming, especially when friends you respect and look to are already dipping in and reporting that the water is warm. It took us until late 20s (and in my case, still fighting in late 30s) to realize that water was coming to a boil.
Even now I do believe that there *can* be psychic and other benefits people talk about when it's used in moderation. There's enough people who say that (and I've had some experience with it myself), that I wouldn't dismiss it as a cope. But it was intended naturally as a sacrament, tool, etc with a time, place and function to be respected, not the every day high waste of lifestyle that culture - or rather, counterculture (which is also given to us) - programmed me to believe was healthy, and even somehow ahead of the game.
