I don't see how this is more likely than kids being kids. You were supposed to prove the value of your name by excelling, either academically or by shooting back. Then the other kids would say "He's cool so people with that name are cool". But instead you dishonored you name and now blame your name for not making you a man. That's not how it works. You have to defend your name, not the other way around.
Also I'm curious which month you were named after. I'm assuming you're male because some of the months are actually common female names already
