Scoring system, biggest thing being that freestyle scores throws based on how high they are and folkstyle bans high-altitude throws and awards the same number of points for any legal takedown.

are there "all styles allowed" competitions anymore? Like; not freestyle per se but catch-can, sumo (without slaps!), Canarian grappling, etc...With some sort of common set of rules.
striking arts like karate, muay thai, boxing love to do this...but they're few videos of matches like "wrestling vs judo", "BJJ vs greco-roman wrestling"

It's not normal or accepted behavior, just a dirty trick that some weirdos employ. In a high school (folkstyle/scholastic) wrestling meet one of my teammates suddenly flipped out, slammed his opponent hard on the mat with an illegal throw, and stormed off the mat. Coach was pissed for about two seconds until he threw down his headgear and yelled, "he stuck his FINGER in my ASSHOLE," at which point Coach's reaction indicated he didn't fault him for hurting the other kid, who didn't get back up and had to be carried out to an ambulance on a stretcher.
