There's a BJJ thread already, you fucking mongoloid. Every time you create a thread, another thread dies. Stop shitting up /xs/ with your retarded inquiries. Btw, I didn't bump this thread.

any sport that requires you to stick around in a grapple is exactly that - a sport. if by useful you mean "can i actually defend myself with it" then the best grappler is wrestling with the intention of just picking someone up and dumping them on their head or spine. if you are genuinely interested in self defense the best thing in my own opinion a combination of boxing and weight lifting to build the speed and power needed to hit someone hard enough to either knock them out or put them on their ass so you can leave safely

i challenge anyone who says BJJ is good for self defence: next time you roll with someone ask them to just try touching your face their hand at any point during the rolle - this will simulate them gouging your eyes out with thir fingers. i promise you even a white belt will be able to do it multiple times per roll

This is a retarded take as most practical martial arts have ideal situations 'in a street fight '
>judo
Understanding the risks of throwing hands like a retard, as well as how to fall without dying
>kickboxing
Understanding that jabs are OP and the risks of throwing a kick, rather that if someone is kicking you on the streets they have a very real chance of falling and breaking something
>bjj
Even bears practice this, when you're down, how to safely and aggressively get off your back

Another of practical BJJ is keeping away from your opponent, because if it's a street fight scenario I don't want to hug a fucking sweaty hobo and his yellow wifebeater
