i was just going to make a thread for recommendations on books. I've been trying to find something to read since i'm trying to write something of my own about a guy trying to groom his former childhood friend into being a supervillain. the romance is a subplot but a very important one. and i'm not very well read on romance

I recommend the novel Kiss of the Spider Woman (or El Beso de la Mujer Araña) written by Manuel Puig, it's the story about two male cellmates, one being pretty sexually active commie and the other one a guy that enjoys narrating movies to him. The book is better than I describe it.
I guess maybe there is an English translation out there, it's easier finding it in Spanish. Tbh I just find out there is a movie about this book too.

I don’t read a lot of gay lit (that’s what fanfic is for) but I did pick up The Scottish Boy second hand and was impressed by the story and well-written sex scenes. There’s also black and white illustrations for each chapter.

Story is set in England in the 1300s. A knight who wants to prove himself ends up in charge of a rough, aggressive Scottish prisoner. It has a historic setting, battles, political intrigue and steamy sex, so I highly recommend it.

Simon Kirby-Jones series by Dean A. James is a cozy mystery series about a gay vampire who ends up with his assistant. Stop abruptly but fun.
I liked the first 3 Nightrunner books by Lynn Flewelling but I haven't read the later ones. Those are fantasy. Book 3 is a bit dramatic.
I know Dracula isn't canon gay but I swear there was something going on in there with Dracula/Johnathan.

Years and years ago I read a book with two gay secret agents called Cut & Run and though I don't remember much of it I remember liking it. Looks like it's a series now.

Any good erotic books (as in actual books, not fanfics) with rape stuff? I'm somewhat new to reading and non-con stuff is jot but I have no idea how or where to look. Also I don't mean stuff for shock value/snuff but actual erotic stuff, gorey stuff puts me off

desu if you can't tell its a fujo story from the plot it's not fujo enough to throw you, be it a masc or fem fujo.

i could tell it was a fujo story from the plot and that it's too fujo for me. for example I expect the two lead boys to talk to each other like teenage girls, the tone of the society to be condescendingly limiting yet extremely permissive and forgiving (like modern society is for woman) which will clash with the overdone window-dressing of being extremely gritty and dog-eat-dog (presumably to compensate for this bias and be taken seriously), horribly written woman characters (to the limited extent that there are woman characters) to the point that it makes me (a man) feel uncomfortable reading it, and SOME REALLY WEIRD CLASS SHIT where the scottish man is just dripping in "high value man" and the perspective character responds to this with the weird thirsty cautious domination that woman do to men whose parents make more than 3x as more than their parents and it's going to be understated but just so visible that the Englishman is thirsting in his loins for the concept of the Scottish boy's dark academia coded theoretical affluence. all the men are going to have super distant and vapid yet emotionally charged relationships with each-other btw.

some woman can overcome these ignorance though, and also some men can't. take for instance Ursula K. Leguin's Earthsea vs Chrisopher Paolini's Eragon. Excellent example of a woman writing a man who isn't weird as fuck and has that weird ingrained sense of competition and shame with every other man, and male author who writes boys like softcore webcomic infinite pining yaoi.

obligatory "yes all literature that isn't senseless stupid, weird sci-fi, or just raw fucking weird kink porn with terrible characters and no setting is written by woman between 30 and 50 get used to it"

What would be an example of an extremely "fujo story"? Like, actual books.

Also >>3077317 learn to use a bit of punctuation, I could barely read your paragraph bruh.

Nta but recently read the "More heat than the sun" series by John Wiltshire (idk her non pen name, but she admitted she's female a ahold ago) and one half of the main couple constantly acts like the "woman" of the relationship by being basically a sugar baby with annoying "woman moments" like being constantly back and forth between "you literally can't do anything to make me stop loving you" immediately followed by him throwing a hissy fit and almost breaking up, while the other half of the relationship is based off that Hannibal show older dude fujos seem to love for some reason. Also the sex is always lubeless

To add something I forgot to mention, the "woman moment" dude is supposed to be an ex SAS soldier followed by being a black ops operative, but in the actual books he's a pissy bitch anytime he's not have "epic cool guy beating up goons" moments, and those are rare

Theres a book I was reading recently called A Little Life by some american-chink female writer who I think are the most stereotypical fujos. Basically they often write books which feature mainly or only male characters, in unquestioned/unchallenged gay relationships, often where one member of the relationship is shown to think and behave in a way that is indistinguishable from a woman and the other behaves like a woman's impression of a stoic or distant guy. Often all male friendships in the story are way too emotionally vulnerable and nurturing. This is the impression I get from most fujo writing and A Little Life does this a lot.

Any rec's for WNs/LNs with a male protagonist and trap/femboy/shota heroines? I'm really annoyed at how hard it is to find anything on NovelUpdates/Ao3/ScribbleHub due to bad tagging.

'It Seems the Convenience Store Clerk Ossan That Got Dragged Into the Teleportation of an Entire Class Will Make Use of the Leftover Skills the Heroes Didn’t Want and Become the Strongest' had promise with the protagonist fucking a trap, but then he rejects a confession from cute shota who then sadly gets a magic sex change. Shame on the author for chickening out on a bisexual harem.
There's also a couple of things on ATF Stories but they're all unfinished (Ex. '2 Taboo 4 You', 'Amberton')
