I had a Wacom Intuos Pro that was gifted to my sister and I used it for a while. I learned Zbrush with it.
Anyway, she left the cocoon now and I'd like to get back to sculpting. But even more than before. So I was starting to check out tablets and I was horrified by the price of the nicer stuff.
My question is the following, you think old Cintiq still holding up to the current competition? I really want to try one with a screen but only second hand options in my area have Cintique (22,24,16 HD or not) for a price around 400-600€ (sometimes less, sometimes more). So should I try one of these even though they were released a decade ago?

cintiques have always been pricey and they always will be. i dont use one and never had the chance to. i got a galaxy tab A for drawing and the fidelity is very accurate. there are apps to remote log in to your pc with a tablet and maybe you could sculpt in zbrush through that.

I have the very thing in your picture.
Wacom bullshit customer service screwed me over,
I bought it new. Came with a busted bearing in the fan so it rattled. After long back and forth, me proving them that the fan is actually busted with audio clips, they finally decided to switch it.
What I got back was a refurbished, used unit with scratches from a writst watch and worn smooth dials.
They stopped responding after I askes what are my options.
stopped drawing on the thing since it left me with such a bad taste.
I say don't give the fuckers your money, buy some chinese cheapo instead.

Lmao, I have XP-PEN Deco Mini 7 for 48$ and it was more than enough. I honestly have no idea how it can be better. It just works, and it's compact enough to feel comfy and fit into my work area neatly.

Yes. I have a Cintiq 13HD that I bought in 2017 for ~$1,000 and I still use it. Works great for sculpting, texturing and 2D digital art. If you can get the same or bigger for half price I would recommend it.

The latest iPad Pro is also great for digital art, but those can be expensive.

Screen tablets are pointless, especially for sculpting with the exception of the huge 27" ones or fully integrated ones (ipad)
There's numerous problems like you have to use screen mirroring anyway for most applications, there's no ergonomic solution of where to place a small screen tablet and you'd be looking at the main screen anyway.
Just get a normal drawing tablet without screen and use the rest to buy a 3dconnexion device. You'd be thinking that the disconnect between cursor movement and pen movement makes it awkward, but it doesn't you already are accustomed to that by using a mouse and your hand not getting in the way of seeing the content is also a benefit.

Friend of mine was ambidextrous and would use the pen and tablet in his left hand for drawing and mouse in the right hand for menu navigation.

The fuck's your problem now? Most left-handed people do this because most computer mice are right-handed.
