I'm considering doing 3D prn as a side gig because I'm overall an extreme degenerate person with degenerate fetishes that others like a lot too but I don't want to model, can I just make animations without modeling my own characters and stuff?

Animation is not something you do as a "side-gig" - to get to the level where people will actually pay you through Patreon or whatever, you have to autistically no-life it. If you're not willing to put in 10k+ hours to git gud then YNGMI. If you want a side gig go fucking DoorDash.

You'll need to learn weight painting/skinning, rigging, skeletons, how to read the dope sheet and graph editor, the differences between and the specific use cases for spline, clamped, linear, stepped, stepped next, flat, fixed, and plateau tangents, lighting, rendering.

You really don't, a lot of porn animators use existing models. Also look at animeNyan's tutsto get an impression of how some just kitbash models and hide the stitches.

But if you know modeling you'll have an edge, because you can make your own and/or alter existing ones to better fit scenes.

I know the kind of thing you're talking about but have never looked into how much money those people are getting paid.
I'd like to think it's a pittance but then the porn games on GOG and Steam are priced quite highly so there must be some demand for this stuff.

99.99% of people like this never do anything, they might open blender and do a donut tutorial or something but they'll never touch it again

I'm going to get shit for saying this, but learn Koikatsu. You can make characters easier, and there are thousands already made and free. You can plug them into scenes other people have made or make your own. The community is primary NSFW. Same 3d principles of any other animation, but clunkier in some parts. Don't consider it side gig, consider it hobby. There's no real money in 3d*, especially for nsfw.

*views expressed here are relative to my personal circumstance and what I can make in my normal job. Top artists can make a great living with nsfw animation, but those are outliers. Employable artists suffer the problem here >>1014141
Your results may vary, but what will not vary is that it will take many months before someone will want to pay you. I know some artists that do insane work and high effort post constantly, but are making like $600usd on patreon a month.

The problem in my case is that I just don't like Koikatsu style, like at all, and you can just tell it's koikatsu at a glance it always looks the same to me. I'm sorry for shitting on it but I sadly just don't find the style appealing, I think I would even prefer MMD

Honestly I'm quick to dismiss things but I may be willing to give it a try, it's just weird that sometimes there's a really good video with really nice style and surprisingly it's Koikatsu, but I just don't like the original koikatsu style, texture or lighting because it makes them all look the same to me.
I'm gonna visit the Koikatsub subreddit or whatever for a guide

What do you think about MMD though? A lot of peope animate on that as well, but I don't know if they just use the models on Blender
