Autodesk Maya VS Blender
I'm in a limbo between the two since I'm looking to learn to rig and eventually animate characters as a hobby. Which one do I go for? Blender is free last time I saw it and it seems easy to use compared to Maya.

Either is good. Both have sufficient resources and guides for learning. The only real difference from a beginner's perspective is the price, but you could always pirate. Personally I use Blender because I like open source software and for the content I work on there would be problems with not paying. Pick what you like.

Shoutout to the "Blender Cult" guy who will probably be commenting here shortly.

Maya. Enjoy 2 fps animating in blender with a notoriously retarded bone system.

Why do you keep making bait threads? The current 5 threads aren't enough?

Elaborate on 2fps animation.

NTA but only in terms of hobbyware. I'd recommend Blender to a beginner over Maya because it just has everything prepackaged, and they can just move to a specialized software if there's something specific that interested them.
