The only reason why people tell you that you won't get a job if you use open source software like Blender so you should learn to use propietary software is because universities pay millions of dollars in licenses each year to teach students. And then companies follow suit. It's basically a mafia powered through sunk cost fallacy.
I've never understood why people say that Blender is unintuitive or lacks features. Maybe 10 or even 5 years ago that was the case, but nowadays I find some stuff in Blender much easier and straightforward.
