I'm leaving the autodesk ecosystem because this exists for blender. Why do this manually when sone nob can complete his mesh faster than me.

Seriously resample a mesh in real time and adjusts it without a history stack nothing on the maya or Max market place exists for that.

It’s called Construction History and Maya had it since its creation. Blender took 30 years to make something so basic that it’s laughable.

Construction History is as it sounds, you construct the model history and change anything that needs changed. This is a nondestructive process, just like Adobe Photoshop with the exact same idea. Erasing history is like creating a new model from scratch. Blender lacks any plugin or developers to create nondestructive models, this leads to problems that shouldn’t exist if Blender had history erasing applications.

That’s not a plugin in Maya, it’s hardcoded into the software. You should know this basic thing faker.

Who the fuck says Construction History is a plugin and the fuck downloads a plugin to change divisions when Blender can do it without it. What is wrong with you people.

>>1016868
>>1016871
Yes it happens in Blender too, alternate between uneven shapes leading to a messy model. This is not a odd thing, it happens in every 3D software. Why do you noobs sound like you discover something new when experience people who tried to cut corners experience the bad results.

Now.

I'm a 3D Max expert how would you fix this without using a plugin and using the stock tools in the ribbion menu.

Doing exactly what's in the gif, changing parts of boolean divisions and cylinder divisions without subdivision.

Every anwser your going to tell me is wrong before you even tell me, because i know it's not taught to juniors like yourself for the last 10 years because they simplifed courses for you smooth brains.

The gif in the image only applies simple changes instead of big ones. It’s also not connected to other models, you can see the glass is not aligned with (I don’t know what’s it called telescopic?) main body. The middle piece is not connected with middle object. The gif might as well be false advertisement never intended for real world use.

Haven't you considered that if some Maya feature is not a plugin and modifies history, and someone is talking about something that is a plugin and doesn't modify history, they might be talking about some other thing unrelated to the Maya feature? Such as a blender plugin that is the topic of the thread?
Anon is saying that "That (construction history) is not that this plugin (resample mesh) does". As in, resample mesh does not do construction history.

LITERALLY THIS FIXES THE ONE OF THE BIGGEST PROBLEMS IN MAYA AND 3D MAX.

AND MAYA AND 3D MAX DOESN'T EVEN HAVE THIS, FUCKING BLENDER DOES AS AN ADDON.

YOU CAN'T DO THAT IN MAYA

YOU CAN'T DO THAT IN MAX

EVEN IF YOU USE HISTORY, YOU ADJUST SOMETHING SUDDENLY IT EXPLODES BECAUSE HISTORY DON'T FUCKING WORD.

THIS BLENDER ADDON YOU CAN ADJUST SEAMLESSLY EVERY CURVE, EVERY BOOLEAN AND RETOPOLOGIZE IT.

HISTORY YOU TOUCH IT. BREAKS THE MODEL.

SIMPLETON.

This is why you people are so stupid, the plugin is showing false information. You have the same subdivision option in Blender. Yet somehow this one plugin you see in Blender plugin website shocks you like the caveman you are. It doesn’t matter what plugin you use, any history changes in both Maya or Blender will cause model to defect.

PROVE IT. SHOW THIS IN REAL TIME.

Watch the videos and prove it. I already know you can't do it.

Here’s one for Blender: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXxJfFzA7FE

A person who tried: https://old.reddit.com/r/blenderhelp/comments/rwjxjs/why_does_the_mesh_look_weird_when_i_apply_the/

Here is Maya: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDtlwtbW-YE

It literally is the same problem when you try doing something you noobs don’t have understanding of. 3D space is not going to follow your dumb logic.

Hmm, Yes. Construction history. Hmm, Yes. We're talking about modifying it without the construction history even he talks about in your video about "baking" or "collapsing" construction history.

Then you go to let's say change a boolean of a cylinder, oh.. you've collapse the construction history. hmm.. well.. hmm.. but.. no, i don't have the construction history. Guess, I'm stuck.

You'll likely reply with, you've gotta plan your operations and it takes skill.

I literally have to retopologize models made by screw heads like you all the time, so many gun models don't know jack shit about the software package they are using.

>I retopologize existing models
The only reason to use retopologize is to optimize models. What you suggested is incorrect ways to fix modeling problems. Only dumb Blender people like you take fake ways to solve problems. Actually fixing the modeling problems like Kenny’s unoptimized versions is too hard for you it seems. You can’t understand basic concepts like moving lines, double sided planes, filling the hole and more.

Scenario 1: The studio provides you with a fully completed model, and your task is to remodel it. You don’t have any project history to reference, or the model high poly just it's low poly, and you have just one week to finish. How do you approach it?

This tool definitely has its advantages, and you'd be missing out if you’re not using it. Nearly everyone I know in a professional setting uses both Maya and Blender in their workflow. Sure, you'll always have those die-hard users who swear by their chosen program, but that's typically because their studio has developed custom tools tailored to that specific software and freelancers don't have that option unless you want the downtime of developing your own tools to speed up your workflow.

I still remember when Live Boolean was a game-changer, and how plugin developers stepped up to the plate when Autodesk hesitated to make the move.

Anonymous No.1016958 [Report] >>1016959

Because your reducing, the inner track lacks enough polygons so you've gotta reduce it to tri's.

Modeling 101.
