Grease pencil lineart modifier I guess.

This is how most anime styled models do it.
Crude but it works. The disadvantage is that the outline is in world space not screen space so the thickness depends on the camera distance. Sometimes that's wanted sometimes not.
I haven't tried figuring out how to fix that with geonodes but it's probably possible.

That’s not how anime is created in 3D, that’s blender limitations, unable to handle cartoons because it was never created for such things.

True, still works tho
Deemed good enough by basically everyone using it.
You can do something fancier with geonodes, grease pencil etc.

An inverted shell outline is a blender technique?

It’s “good enough” by cultists like you who never produce cartoons and claim nonsense about their rendering. Not realizing that a cartoon has many different elements besides looks that Blender can’t replicate.

is there just one enraged ESL that's rallying against blender on here or is it more than one?

Blender has a set normal node now. So there's no longer an excuse for not editing your normal(Which was already possible without the node. The node just make it easier.)

If you're doing a lot of custom normals work you probably want to check out https://x.com/AversionReality
He's working on a plugin that makes normal editing much easier, apparently

That’s from MHA an anime series, don’t get your point when people used Blender shaders and completely changed their look.

And you people keep saying stuff that doesn’t exist. Let’s not forget you Americans are the real 3rd world country with zero access to sending mail. No more cheap plastic bags for you basterds.

>I say cartoons have more elements besides looks
>Reference looks
Ya ok, keep believing you’re making cartoons and not add those loony details. I’m sure people will appreciate the lack of body proportion, the facial less of cartoons and the ability to deformed. Keep believing such nonsense.

My bad, dog.
So what kind of proportions and deformation are Blender not capable of performing? I need an example, because I can't even imagine such a limitation for Blender.

I really try not to, but he says the most outlandish things and I can't believe that, well, he really believes what he's saying
