Blender hatred
I've seen a lot of people dislike it. But there is no need to hate it. Blender is an alright little utility buddy. It's not the best at anything, though it's a great helper. Personally I only use it to clean up models post CAD modeling, store my hp and lp's in seperate collections, and it's simply great for that. I like Blender.

There is literally only just one.

nope. i also hate your indian software

blender has been dragged down for decades by retarded devs who either wanted it to be different for the sake of it or are too terminally autistic to realize what's wrong with it.

I've been a blendfag for a decade and started trying out animation and holy shit is it archaic. Library Overrides has been in limbo and buggy which has been a turn-off for studios that require a reliable animation pipeline.

Cultist and shills keep hyping up every update as the "best" update when it doesn't even address the long existing problems.

>Muh 200000000000001 poly sculpting
And it crashes after you import an two million poly mesh, least you try to sculpt at extremely high values

You must be using a potato because I can import and work with models well over 8 million or so just fine.

Isn't that quite literally what 5.x and the new animation system they're working on are specifically made to do?

No, the new animation system is a work in progress that started in 2020 and the first big thing landed in the 4.4 with the introduction of the slots, after that shit they have planned to work in layered animation, rigging nodes and baking, and they want to add minor shits like a bone picker , I don't think this will be ready for the 5.2, you can check the development here https://developer.blender.org/docs/release_notes/5.0/ and here https://devtalk.blender.org/c/meetings/28 .
I think the biggest thing for the 5.0 is SDF modeling (volume nodes as they call it), out of beta after 2 years, but it is only for geometry nodes so you'll have to make your own tree to use them.

>Node nonsense and over complicated logic to make something move
OMG why can’t the developers just add basic functionality. All everyone ever wants is bug fixes.
Anonymous No.1019953 [Report]

Until they make library overrides handle rigs and animations properly, I don't expect a lot.

i love blender over all as it touches on everything but it got rid of reactor particles and never recovered it. particles should work like this: get rid of particle "amount" as anything that affects the rate and set it to a culling setting based on a set amount of ram- when ram is exceeded it will cull particles base on "age, density or distance from camera". have a separate particle rate setting that can be animated instead of a texture control so you can pin-point control of it for say water-hose animation. an animatable splay control with 0 for a straight shot and a random setting if you want some uncontrolled chaos. BRING REACTOR BACK. Texture controls can still stick around.

fast usually works, if you aren't doing precision modeling you could try to me the cutting object a bit, sometimes works, you could try to triangulate the object first, you have a new solver in the 4.4 and in the 5.0 you can use sdf modeling to deal with booleans too.

it's non-manifold. trying to decide whether manually doing the non-manifold or just going a different route is better. I was super careful, I thought but mirror seems to turbofuck me with non-manifold edges. I just dont' understand how people get shit done when I can't even keep a simple model like this straight.

you're not wrong much manual correction was needed. 4.4 is a big improvement.

I find booleans great in arbitrary-topology lowpoly with custom normals.

People who hate blender are shit eating niggers who cry and bitch and moan about retarded shit.
MUH HOTKEYS ARE DIFFERENT
OMG
IT DOENS'T MATCH ADOBE (the software they were groomed into using and getting used to) SO ITS BAAAAAAAAAAD
I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO C-C-C-CUSTOMIZE A UI TO MY EXACT LIKINGS, IT SHOULD JUST LOOK LIKE ADOBE
You see the same complaints with people when it comes to GIMP.
The vocal complainers are paid shills or legit retards, in every case.

A lot of the people making 3D porn use Blender just fine and a lot of the game modding and indie dev community uses it too.

It used to be very valid criticism 10 years ago, I don't know what GIMP is like today but Blender had a glow up since 2.8 and became less autistic

"Relying on booleans to model is the 3D equivalent of finger painting"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfTdQNECvtU

There are rare cases where booleans can be used (with a lot of preparation), but most of the time you're better off with proper modeling techniques so you can keep the mesh lightweight and avoid having to clean up
Anonymous No.1020231 [Report] >>1020234
I think the most valid complaint about booleans is how slow it is especially for geometry nodes. I don't know if it's still as slow as before.
Anonymous No.1020234 [Report]
>>1020231
the manifold operator is very fast, but only works on manifold geometry and you don't always make make manifold objects with geo nodes
5.0 is debuting some SDF nodes which could be great for boolean operations in geo nodes

I attempted to learn blender about 3-4 years ago but gave up after the anvil free tutorial. I even spent money on a computer because I thought a cheap laptop can't handle animation. I couldn't stand the fucking TE-TRANNY-GONAL POLYGON rule! it must be four sided or else the colors won't fit FUCK YOU! no wonder it's for free, because how else would you get people to use it?
does anybody know a modeling program that uses triangle mesh in stead of 4 sided mesh? I think that the problem would be solved with a mesh made of triangles, it would be so much easier and logical.

People use Blender because there's lots of info on it.
