Skipping months really hurts the momentum of this series but this was my favorite chapter in a while. The whole Zatch and Kiyo crossing the worlds at will thing was bugging me the whole time so I'm glad they finally cleared that up, and there were a lot of nice little moments. Honestly ever since the chapter after Tio's ENTER moment the manga's been on a slow decline. The fact that there hasn't been any moments for the characters to interact since then and it's just been back to back ENTER moments is negatively impacting the pacing. The OG Gash was really good about throwing in breather chapters to endear readers to the characters before jumping into the fights again.

It's just something that could've been fixed with a competent editor (does he even currently have one?). There's a lot of clunky pacing and writing in Gash 2 compared to his non self-published works, like the unnecessary sequence showing how Megumi got to Tio when literally everyone inferred that she jumped through the fire to get to her. There was this sense of Raiku doing preemptive damage control in her conversation with an employee saying she'll refund the concert-goers (perhaps to avoid people thinking she completely abandoned the concert) when that could've been stated after the battle where it wouldn't have broken the flow of the story. The handling of Sherry's husband and her post-demon fight backstory feels like another exmaple of this.

Just last chapter Gash unlocked a new spell, Kiyomaro had to slowly figure out how to use it, figured out how it can be used to propel things, and used it to propel Barry at the enemy. He had to create this entire strategy in real time, while distracting the enemy. And this is while Barry was memorizing all the medicines the enemy was using for later.

I honestly would've preferred if Raiku doubled down on Sherry's marital life being shit and set it up so that it would be more of an overarching arc for her to "man up" and do something about ber situation. Show she got soft after Brago left and have his return spark something where she remembers how much pride and grit she used to have. Because it's pretty weird that she was the only case we know where the king decided to give her a new spells to help her out.

Momon was technically worse than a pacifist. Koruru was willing to drop out of the tournament. If Momon got to the finals, and the other demon had no way of locating Momon at long range, the tournament would last forever.

Glad we got a breather chapter, as others said we need a change of pace from fighting random antagonist pairs. The first two were amazing, but it's worn out. But in terms of the actual breather, this was pretty crap.

Not terribly excited for fat brown lady (or the old woman with her), but I wouldn't mind seeing some stories with new characters, and especially under-explored returning characters. Less ENTER and more surviving by outmaneuvering the enemy. Show us what Apollo is doing, what he's hoping for, what doubts he might have about stopping the real threat even if he had Ropps back. Show us Vino standing in for Riddles and his feelings about these demons he doesn't even remember from when he was a baby. Or maybe he does remember a feeling and just has a bad vibe around demons and spellbooks. Something along those lines.
