Dragon is the best example of “show don’t tell”. He’s been in this manga longer than a lot of One Piece fans have been alive, yet he’s done nothing onscreen since his first introduction. Even with all that is happening in the world and the members of his own group moralizing, he’s sitting down. Even in the final saga we know nothing about him other than he likes to stare east and that he’s Luffy’s dad.

Oars was called a continent puller. However the Oars we saw on Thriller bark was actually Little Oars, or Oars the second. Oars the Third was in Whitebeards crew and specifically had an Oars III flag.

Oars the first was the earth god and continent puller and he was in Wano pulling the sea walls up around Wano to protect them from the flood. It's why the giants there are massive like Oars and living in his skull and have horns, and why Kaido has scales and horns because Oni are offshoots of the dragon. He died in Wano and they renamed him Onigashima. The ancient Dragon statue Ace broke was related to that, and also why Kaido was initially chose by a dragon fruit.

Interestingly enough about the Sunny... Oda originally had a character planned named Merry before OP even started. Merry was going to be the spirit of the Gomu Gomu tree and 5000 years old.

Later on we get a spirit named Merry possessing the original ship. Then we get a tree called The Adam tree. And the new ship is called the sunny (keep in mind the sun mythology) and made from the Adam wood.

What if Merry is the spirit of the Adam tree and has been following the new Joyboy all along? After all Merry said he wanted to go on one more adventure with the crew in water 7. That could also infer one more adventure with Joyboy, the person who made him laugh.

On one hand Imu has so much relevant to the state of the world and why everything is the way it is. There’ll likely be a doomsday clock attached to the planet with a 800 year timer and Luffy will have to beat him before then.
On the other hand, Blackbeard/Luffy both have a distinct impact for how they affect countries. Luffy tends to leave things better than when he found them (i.e Dressrosa) whereas BB just creates anarchy (i.e how Drum kingdom imploded). This represents the different forms of what Nika took in the First and Second world probably. It won’t be thematically fulfilling to have them both fight it out beforehand and then fight Imu.

We've been fighting the WG since the pre-timeskip, actually. They are after all major villains. Also there is a high chance of Luffy encountering Blackbeard sooner rather then later considering the latter has captured Garp, kidnapped Pudding and is about to attack Luffy's territories in Wano and Fishman island thanks to Caribou's intel.
I don't see how seeing the Gorosei in action early on (as well as the Holy Knights and a bit of Imu) is a bad thing. Would you rather Oda not show any of these WG factions until the final war arc? If so, do note that it would be a far worse way of doing things. We haven't even seen everything from the Elders yet either (except Saturn whom Oda killed off).

that means nothing. More one piece arcs are about fighting the world government than not, because as a pirate the world government is the biggest antagonistic force in luffy's life and there's a lot of tiers to it.
blackbeard is just one of the other pirates competing with luffy to find the one piece and become the pirate king. beating him won't change the world it'll just stop him from changing the world. and one piece isn't the kind of story where just maintaining the status quo is good enough to call it a win

Whether this means they will come to clash with each other sooner or not is...hard to say, honestly. Luffy's true dream can only be completed after becoming pirate king (and is likely related to defeating Imu) and Blackbeard's dream may also happen after he tries to become pirate king himself.
Oda has also gone on record to state that the story would end once the One Piece is found (if I'm not wrong).

and final saga is how he refers to everything from egghead to the very end of the manga, in contrast to everything from FI to Wano which was the New World saga
