I still need a dictionary and google/chatgpt to babysit me through even basic stuff. And that's just with run of the mill shounen slop with barely any words like Demon Slayer or Chainsaw Man. Anything more complex or wordy and I'm completely lost. N2 should probably be the bare minimum for fansubs. For professional translation work, you would need N1 most likely. And even N1 doesnโt guarantee real proficiency when it comes to nuance.
