my theory is that it's the evolution of how protagonists interact with female characters. in old animes "gigachad" protagonists were basically sigmas who didn't care about women, and the ones who did bang didn't really make it the focus of the show. over time female characters became more and more prominent as targets for the viewers to lust over, but at the same time anime became more restrictive about showing sex. this meant that writers had to come up with a way to cockblock characters to avoid having to show them fucking. this led to the violent tsundere era where you would have a horny protagonist who could never score. people got tired of that shit though, so to remove the burden of being the cockblock from the girls they shifted it to the protagonist. protagonists in formats that don't have to worry about age ratings like hentai games still have pussy hunter protagonists.

Fuck this show. Complete and utter piece of shit. I regret every second I wasted on it. Throughout the runtime, it's been establishing how much better and more fitting for Hinata Sakura is than Bell, and hinting not so subtly at a harem ending. I'd take just Sakura, but I guess it's not meant to be in a show named after the elf.

So how does it end? The superior waifu not just loses, she deliberately cucks herself and tells the other girl to go for it. I have no words. I feel cucked myself as a watcher. This is on par with Hataraku Maou. My rating: 0/10.
