Sakamoto doesn't spend enough time on build up. It's always a continously rush towards the next cliffhanger.
That only works if the main story thread is very much well defined and the plot is simple to understand and thus remember (like kimetsu for example), so that the reader can keep that information in the back of their mind even if it's full of fight after fight chapters.
SD doesn't have a good unifying main story thread, doesn't have a simple to grasp goal that every fight slowly gets the MC closer to, so it ends up feeling like "people fight". Its like the old school roguelike games, where you play, die and restart without any meaningful progression. Not everyone is into that kind of thing.

Got caught up with Kagurabachi, this arc definitely improved a ton after Chihiro teamed up with the Masumi. Uruha getting revived was kinda gay though even if the explanation for it makes sense, I'll be a little disappointed if Samura is the only Enchanted Blade wielder who dies and stays dead this arc but that's me being a bit biased since I don't like Uruha but do like Samura.
