Machu is sort of a textbook protagonist, so it went relatively smoothly with her. In the first episode, she’s introduced as a regular girl living her simple, daily life, and then, all of a sudden, she sneaks inside of a Mobile Suit. It might seem like she’s a bit reckless and eccentric… but in my interpretation, the most unique trait of Machu’s personality is that she doesn’t have prejudices.

Side 6 is basically a normal, everyday world, somewhat resembling present day Japan. But there’s an area inside the colony where immigrants —both legal and illegal— and refugees live, people who are relatively discriminated against within the colony. Even in a society with such a dark side, Machu doesn’t hold any prejudice towards the refugees and the illegal immigrants there. Whether that’s because she fundamentally lacks the concept of prejudice, or because she simply doesn’t want to acknowledge it, even I am not totally sure.
If a normal girl were to come in contact with a smuggler of illegal Installer Keys like Nyaan, she’d probably report her to the police immediately. But not Machu, she’d just go ask for the “compensation for her broken smartphone” or something. This is to say, Machu basically considers Nyaan to be her equal. In this sense, inside that Side 6, she’s certainly a peculiar girl.

The Gqux was made with shit that resonates with the psyframe, CCA amuro enters the Gqux, starts guiding Machu
Meanwhile Char has been plotting to kill Lalah to free her and the world from her dreams (Zeknovas)
By the end shuuji decides to kill Lalah, but he knows that would kill the universe where char lives (where machu lives too)
Machu, guided by Amuro, is many times implied or parallel to Lalah, probably a latent personality of her subconscious, by the end, Machu de-traumatizes Lalah and makes Shuuji fall in love with her (white sluttier lalah)
Shuuji goes back to his world, but is implied he'll go get Machu somehow.

Meanwhile Japanese fans are celebrating Exabe and Challia's marriage

The entirety of Machu + Shuji is forced. That's why it is stupid. Amuro/Char + Lalah makes sense at least, and they developed that dynamic. Shuji is a weird kid who spray paints stuff and one day Machu falls in love despite them never really talking at all. Nyaan spends more time with him. But suddenly they both love each other?

It's a more standard Gundam romance. Cature is a runaway princess, being the Issue heir apparent. She travels around with Wistario on his treasure hunts. They get close, issues with Gjallarhorn come up, Wistario says he's going to marry Cature to troll the Issue retainers who've come to retrieve her, and this later becomes more serious. I guess there's a bit of a political angle as well, as Wistario is technically the admin/governor/lord of Venus, and Cature is one of the seven most powerful people in the setting (if she'd return to Gjallarhorn to take up the Issue mantle).

It is actually quite hilarious that Bandai had a cash cow with GWitch, the whole of Japan as well as the anime community at large discussing the show every weekend, a whole new Gundam universe with dozens of new characters everyone loved to flesh out and milk for years, selling kits at a higher rate than ever, and because of the yuri main characters, they got spooked and moved on from it really quickly when it should have gotten at least a movie finale to keep its pacing.

Then their panic move was to quickly shit out Gquuuuuux with a script so bereft of pace it fell entirely on 0079 pandering, where the female MCs have no character beyond lusting after some random guy's dick. No universe building, all the suits are just edits of existing ones and most are really fucking ugly, and all the characters introduced just die instantly and only have their designs to speak of. Guel, Elan, El0n, and Shaddiq have 100x the character Shuuji, this Char, and this Challia have. Don't even get started on comparing Suletta, Miorine, Chuchu, Nika, the terrorist girls, fucking Prospera, to Machu, Nyaan, this Kycilia, or Annqi.

It's such a colossal step down from GWitch and won't have any lasting power since it's basically modern MCU reference slop. You can just tell it was a panic move to get attention off of Suletta and Miorine being canonically gay married in a political climate where that's a massive topic in Japan currently.

Char and Kycilia's scene last episode where both Machu and Nyaan crash in screaming "WHERE IS SHUU-CHAN?!" was a microcosm of the whole show. Hilarious to watch, but not good in any way.

Nah man, it's the type of anime to leave you hanging. Anno/Tsurumaki's other works are similar. They take the stance that if you explain or resolve everything, that it removes a lot of the mystery and spontaneity from the story. Typically, something intriguing will be introduced only to never be commented upon again. You wouldn't know anything about the Eva lore, the spears, or the First Ancestral Race unless you dug through the extra materials, for instance.
