>>279964068The issue is they're pressured by the magazine producers/editors to keep stringing the audience along. It's stupid but the minute you wrap up a relationship, or have the characters show affection, most of the audience throws a fit and leaves. Either because the conclusion wasn't the one they had been shipping this whole time or they were only there for the whole "will they, won't they" dynamic. So many of these authors try to come up with a clever way to do a half-way ending or hint at a conclusion. And usually it has an even worse reaction.
So many anime and manga have inconclusive endings because the audience will hate any ending.
